Week 14: Marlington vs Buchtel

I wouldn't exactly call a 12 pt. game where Dover had 5 turnovers getting beat handily. Buchtel would have probably done the same thing to Dover that they did to Marlington. They would have also done the same thing to your precious paper champion Tigers.
They only beat us by 16. -

What did Marlington do the week before? -

I feel much the same. I know a lot of people were wanting to see Marlington win as our rep from Region 11. However, after witnessing the dirty hits and poor sportsmanship by several Dukes players I can't help but be pleased with their Buchtel whipping!
Dover/Marlington was a high emotion game, but kids like that don't just start playing dirty in week 13. The Marlington coaching staff should have reigned in that behavior long ago and had a clear understanding with their players that it would not be tolerated.
Many consider Dover to be arrogant, but I think most of that is due to the behavior of our fan base not what the kids bring to the field. You see little blatant unsportsmanlike behavior from Dover players. We have our share of hotheads but Ifft keeps them in check - and you'll see no one lying on the field after a loss! -

Marlington was penalized 3 or 4 times for unsportsmanlike conduct and, IMO, deserved a couple more. These were mostly committed by the 'premier' players you'd all recognize on both O and D. A couple of these boys must think they are already in the NFL judging from their 'in you face' celebrations - not really like the asinine antics the pros display, but beyond what a high school player should be doing. It certainly doesn't show respect for the opposing team or the game as a whole.Thinthickbigred;578809 wrote:Evidently somebody didnt like some sort of thing not football related ..I know alot of petty complaints happen from time to time but Id like to hear that guys take on it thank you -

They were a dirty team at Harding last year ....... Id like a rematch with them ....i think they shot there load though ..No more Marlington -

I have no clue what (if any) of the Marlington penalties were that you speak of, but obviously Big Red didn't play like angels on the field in that game..........Thinthickbigred;579249 wrote:They were a dirty team at Harding last year ....... Maybe you're just talking out of your ### again? Or do you have some stats to prove it?
"I thought our two-minute offense did a great job moving down the field with the exception of the last four plays," Saccoccia said.
Flags hampered the Red all night. Steubenville was penalized 14 times, including four personal fouls, for 127 yards.
"I was upset with the penalties. They were uncalled for," Saccoccia said. "Penalties hurt us tonight."
Big Red took back the six points on the opening drive of the second half. LeShawn Luke capped off the nine-play-39-yard drive with a 2-yard run at 8:19 of the third. Pierro supplied the extra point.
The Dukes answered with their second touchdown four minutes later. A big kickoff return by Thomas coupled with a personal foul call on Steubenville gave Marlington the ball at the Big Red 45. Seven plays later, Hill scored his second TD of the night from a yard out. The run after failed. -

I'll help you out. Buchtel is 2-3 against private schools this season. They imploded against an excellent Pittsburgh Central Catholic team. They lost by 1 point in a backyard rivalry game to a very fast SVSM team and were bulled over by Toledo C.C. In the Toledo game the Griffs were missing 2 key starters against a team that featured both O tackles with D I college scholarships. The Griffs defeated Parma Holy Name and crushed defending D III champ Youngstown Mooney in the playoffs.
It should be a very good game.
He said Buchtels 3 losses were all to private schools....You replied they were 2-3 vs private schools....and they have 3 losses....Right? Hence. the 3 losses to private schools comment.
Massillon lost to Buchtel by 16, despite OUR seven (7) turnovers and starting a 16 yr old soph. on his birthday. -

You won handily, but people like you make it hard to cheer for the Griffs next week. So I guess Go Watterson!
I haven't posted anything that wasn't true. Marlington tried to intimidate the Griffs and they got curb stomped. Buchtel is the faster and quicker team, but more importantly they are the better OVERALL FOOTBALL TEAM.
Cheer on the Griffs so you can tell everybody that your team was crushed by the D III champs! -

I would give YOU, the same advice. since HIS team was beaten badly....but nowhere near as bad as YOURS....65-0 ring a bell Mr. Viking? -
VikingI am cheering on the Griffs!
Skank's ignorance is sad. I will pray for your depraved soul skank. -

Thanks for the prayers....I'll never turn em down.
You keep talking about my ignorance, yet every post throughout the season contained a "Paper Tigers" tag, maybe I should have prayed for YOUR soul, when someone can dish it out, but not take it, that's sad.
Bottom line....YOUR TEAM, was 0-10....outscored something like 468-36, so you jump on the Buchtel bandwagon. -
ThinthickbigredSkank you got to give him something ..His team was 0-10 but thats still his team right ...Love the public schools .. I really enjoy seeing city school teams win championships ...except against us ofcourse........Good luck Akron beat Watterson

I don't know, he rarely mentioned them throughout the season, and he has seemed to take a weird liking to Buchtel. -

It's a LEAGUE thing. something Massillon fans can't relate to very well. -
ThinthickbigredOld AAC was the toughest confrence in the USA at one time .....I do like City league teams doing well though no matter what city ..I usually root for Glenville but Columbus has had some city league success...In Cinci I dont even know what teams are actually city league schools.....I know who the GCCL teams are but not Cinci public ..I think Princeton is and maybe Anderson ..somebody tell me.... I like to see Toledo city schools do well also
