Akron Buhctel vs Youngstown M

Buchtel dominated Mooney. The Griffs "D" is top notch. Their overall team speed is so good it is frightening.

    Good call :)

Calpreps nailed everything....except the winner and the score.

I'll take Mooney by 10, as they advance to yet another state semi-final.

    Ohh, so close.

Yep skank. You got me good. I wish I had something to say to get you back...but I just can't think of anything. Oh well.....

By the way...how crappy does it feel to host the state championships every year but never get to see your team win it?

It feels great to have a national top 10 stadium and host championship games.

Never play in it? Who was that then I watched take the Greater Cincinnati All Star team to the limit in 05? Who was it I watched play the ORIGINAL Greater Cincinnati All Star team twice in the 80s?

Let's get back to Buchtel vs. Mooney. When was the last time that the Cards were crushed like that in the playoffs?

I hear that Mooney was banged up (Buchtel's starting QB played with a cast on his non-throwing hand; had surgery last week). Why didn't Mooney play their backup QB? Can't anybody on that team throw a short pass? Why did they try and run outside the tackles after getting strung out and stuffed time after time? Are all of the DE's on their team THAT slow? Were BOTH staring DE's out?!?

Viking, I was wondering the same thing. I wasn't at the game but caught it on the radio. It seemed that the Griffs had a hard time stopping the run between the takles. Three turnovers by the Griffs and only three points really hurt too. Have to put points on the board.

True, they had a hard time stopping the run between the tackles too.

Chalk one up for the public schools!
  • Viking
The highlight for the Cards was their kicker.
