The guaranteed prediction will be that everyone will be belly-aching about separate playoffs thereafter. -
dover2092When arguably the number one college..I mean high school team in the state is D5 Ursuline, its time to seperate. Pennsylvania, NY and other states have had success with it. A homegrown team with a once in a generation class gets snuffed out by a team who recruits from all over the state....c'mon. Once again Ohio is behind the curve.
-
skankI agree Dover, except the part about Ursuline being the best in the state.

Yeah, you're right, that was probably being over zealous...just trying to prove a point. -
Con_AlmaFor the love of God it's St. Edward. St. Ed. There's no "S"! It's not his school. It's named after him and it's not plural.
-
skankGet the word out Alma....Something THIS important can't go unpunished.
-
Con_AlmaI don't punish. Not my style. If you think it's THAT important you'll have to carry that out.
Why do people just throw an S on there. Any idea?
The don't throw an S on Massillon. -

I have thought about this a lot. I came up with a play-off format that might make everyone happy.
Continue with the same regions as we have now. But split them when it comes to play-offs. Top 4 privates and Top 4 Publics.
That is 16 teams per division for both Public and Private.
Play the play-offs all the way through. Have a Public State Champion and a Private State Champion. Those two will meet in week 5 of the playoffs for The Division....State Championship.
Obviously it isn't perfect. You may have to put in the top 16 private from the whole division because some regions don't have 4 quality teams every year.
