What a popularity contest. Will Mcewen from New Phila had 27 TD's and 1600 yards in 9 games. He averaged 11.5 yards a carry. He got injured for the season after 9 games . All the stats they use are right up to this weekend. 11.5 yards a carry!! No one is within 2 yards a carry to him.
  • Hammerin'Hank
Popularity contest? Yep, it usually is. Many deserving players get left off, while others mysteriously appear on this list every year.
  • CardsFlyinHigh
Maybe I just didnt read much about their team, but was Chagrin Falls Kenston good enough to have a D2 Defensive player of the year?
  • mompov
Never noticed a third team before? Is that specific to D1 and D2? My school is D6.

I was going to ask the same thing. I don't ever remember seeing a 3rd team before. I imagine it will be consistent for all divisions. Congratulations to all 1st team, 2nd team, 3rd team, and special mention players and coaches. Well done!

    Thanks, GoChiefs!

Nice, three Tigers on first team, Bo Grunder, Jeff Myers and Devin Smith, with Bo being named co defensive player of the year.

    2nd tm. QB Robert Partridge
    3rd tm. safety Josh Remark

    and special mention Spencer Leno.
  • irish_buffalo
Maple Heights should have been represented more.

Nice work Massillon. 5 players on the All Ohio 1st-3rd teams, a good head coach, AND yet ur still watching the state finals from the same place as I am this weekend.

Congrats to Ben Eisel and Coach Kopachy for D3! But holy shit, how in the world is Trent Toothman just special mention?! What a crock--I know there are a lot of good players and someone misses out and he is only a junior...but come on...missed big on that one.

Congrats to the couple of Blue Streaks who earned special mention in D II

For starting out 0-3, and recovering to finish 5-5 including a GBC championship and a 30-0 win over Fremont Ross in the second biggest rivalry in Ohio, you guys deserved it!
