    BLUFFTON — Luke Kohls pulled down seven passes for 136 yards to help Columbus Grove defeat Bluffton 30-13 in a Northwest Conference football game Friday evening.

    Columbus Grove, which averaged at least 30 points in winning three straight games, is 7-3 overall and 6-2 in the NWC. Bluffton falls to 5-5, 4-4.

    Jordan Travis did not have any problem hooking up with Kohls as the combo accounted for TDs covering 62, 29 and 15 yards for the Bulldogs. Travis also connected with Colby Meuleman on a 54-yard touchdown. Spencer Wolfe kicked a 21-yard field goal.

    Bluffton’s Hunter Joseph threw touchdown passes of 40 yards to R.J. Stratton and 17 yards to Jesse Gudakunst.

    Travis completed 20 of 28 passes for 237 yards for the Bulldogs. Trent Kerns had six rushes for 70 yards and Meuleman had five receptions for 80 yards.

    Stratton had eight catches for 130 yards. Joseph completed 19 of 40 passes for 262 yards while Drew Luginbuhl recorded 11 tackles, seven solo stops.

    BLUFFTON — Columbus Grove defeated Bluffton 30-13.

    Jordan Travis went 20-28 for 237 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs (7-3, 6-2 NWC) while Luke Kohls caught seven passes for 136 yards and three scores.

    Joseph Hunter of Bluffton (5-5, 4-4 NWC) passed 19-40 for 252 yards and two scores and R.J. Stratton hauled in six catches for 130 yards and a touchdown.

    BLUFFTON — After trailing 7-3 at halftime, visiting Columbus Grove took command of the second half and beat Bluffton 30-13 in a Northwest Conference football game Friday.

    With the win, Columbus Grove (7-3, 6-2) helped their chances of the making the postseason , but still needed some dominoes to fall in place to make the playoffs. The OHSAA will release the playoff pairings on Sunday.

    Quarterback Jordan Travis and receiver Luke Kohls connected for three touchdowns in the second half. Travis and Kohls linked up for strikes of 62, 29 and 15 yards to go up 23-7 early in the fourth quarter. Travis then finished the game by hitting Colby Meuleman for a 54-yard touchdown pass.

    Travis finished with 237 yards passing, completing 20-of-28 with four touchdowns and an interception. Trent Kerns had 70 yards rushing on six carries for Grove while Kohls had 136 yards receiving on 7 catches.

    Bluffton’s Hunter Joseph passed for 262 yards and two TDs — a 40-yard pass to R.J. Stratton and a 17-yarder to Jesse Gudakunst — but was intercepted twice. Stratton finished with 130 yards on eight receptions for Bluffton (5-5, 4-4).
