If you're talking about the longest rivalry, then yes the McKinley vs. Massillon, BUT if we're talking about the BEST, then I'd have to go with Massillon vs. McKinley!!McKAlumni07;531907 wrote:McKinley-Massillon hands down... game #120 this year

Old RiderMcKAlum...is this the 120th regular season meeting? I assume that total includes playoff meetings as well? Yes? If so, how many times have they played just in the regular season?
Regardless I think it is the best rivalry in the state! -

Correct, Massillon is ALWAYS first. -
Gardens35Another good one in YTown area is Boardman and Fitch.
Fitch leads the series 31-30-1. -

I believe there have been 5 playoff meetings -
skankCorrect, and one time in the mid sixties, Massillon played McKinley twice because the year before McKinley was not allowed to field a team.
BTW, Massillon won both of them. -
McKAlumni07blah blah blah lol.... but at least i was correct haha

skankIf you like being corrected....Marry your girlfriend, you'll be happy ALL THE TIME.

bases_loadedFor what its worth...Going into the 100th meeting. Dover and New Philadelphia's series was 45-45-9. The two town are separated by a river and this year will be the 107th as they met twice in 2008. Dover has won the last 4 I believe.

Bases is correct, this is the 107th meeting, not the 104th as mentioned before. But, what river separates the 2 towns? Or did I miss it when I was gone last week and New Philadelphia annexed the entire south side of Dover? -

mvredWhen you think Northeast Ohio high school football, you think Canton/Massillon, Youngstown, and Cleveland. No disrespect to Akron, but you guys haven't been as strong in recent years.
With that being said:
Massillon-McKinley
St. Ed's-St. Iggy
Ursuline-Mooney
