State playoff game locations. It's about time.....

tk421Ohio University has hosted plenty of high school football games and tournaments in other sports. I'm sure they'd do a fantastic job if for some reason the championships were ever held there, and would no doubt have plenty of volunteers. Also, the arguments about playing in a stadium 90% empty wouldn't hold up at OU, absolutely beautiful campus and stadium/facilities. I've probably got a better chance of winning the lottery than Athens ever getting the State Championships, though.
-
skankI've made it very clear, that despite me being a staunch Massillon man, I think the finals should be held in Columbus, as nice as OU is, and it is nice, if the finals are held anywhere other than the Shoe, it should be Massillon/Canton.
-
tk421Yeah, I don't really care but if people don't want it in the Shoe and don't want it in Massillon, there are other options in the state that would do a very nice job.
-
Be NiceYea skanko, we got there an hour early and got hosed by one of Massilon's finest. Question? Massilon is a big football town. Why no decent paved parking lot? Wouldn't have that problem at Ohio State, would we? Arrogant? Yea, I've been told that before. So, what's your point? I call it the way I see it.
OrrvilleQB...Parking? What do you know about parking? You go to games with your dad. When do you get your temps? lol -
OQBI have definately been driving for quite a few years now lol...Just making a point, who cares about parking if you are there for the games, you obviously don't go to games because oh my god the parking is incredible...give me a break.
-
Be Nice^^^what the Hell kind of rebuttal is that? lol We heard the excuse about getting there early. Wouldn't it Be Nice to have ample parking on all paved surfaces for fans attending title games or should we just accept parking many cars in a field and once that field overflows you're on your own? Plenty of paved parking at the "shoe". Also, the concession areas at Ohio State are much. much better vs PBS. And Ohio State, as we all know, is centrally located. Many more restaurants and things to do in Columbus vs going to Arby's or Joe's Bar. It's quite obvious QB and others that live in the Massilon area DON'T mant to drive to attend state title games. Rock'in their boat just ain't gonna fly. Quess what? Your boats been rocked. Stark county this and Stark county that...bla, bla, bla. It's time has passed. Change for the better is coming.
-
SonofanumpDYK, the geographic and population center of ohio would be in Morrow & Knox Counties. Let's have the games there every year.
-
Be Nice^^^Mount Gilead? All final games held there? Now that's an idea. lol
-
SonofanumpActually, I think it would be convenient if they had a place to play at 71 & 30.
Beyond that I have no problem splitting between Cbus & Mass/Canton.. -

Ah....I was being sarcastic with the "whole hour early" comment, these are championship games....in the "HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL CAPITAL OF THE WORLD, if they are that important to you, get there earlier than an hour.
Heck, you can't even spell Massillon correctly, why should I think you'd be smart enough to get there early. For instance, I'm going to the Massillon/McKinley game on saturday, the game starts at 2, I'm arriving at 10....I'm not stupid enough to think I'm gonna pull up at 1, and get a decent parking spot. -
coyotes22Why would kids feel "Honored" to play at the "shoe"? Because they are OHIO high school kids? Give me a break!!!!! How many high school kids go to college OUT OF STATE?! Who give a flock about tOSU and their sorry @$$ stadium! These are HIGH SCHOOL Championships,,,,,, not COLLEGE championships,,,,,
And who gives a crap about "centralized" site? If your team makes it to the SCG, shouldnt you be willing to travel to Alaska to watch them play?
About the "bad hotel",,,,,,, I guess cheaper aint always better, now is it?
C-Bus has better eating closer to the stadium? I have been down to the shoe, and there really aint anything close to the stadium, except 59725980375985798236789237629356 OSU campus class buildings!!!! There are 21972439802156 resturants between "The Drip" and PBTS.
Yes, its PBTS, see the T in PBTS,,,,,, It's Paul Brown TIGER Stadium!!!! You jackwagon!!
Parking? Lets see, parking. We have enough parking for 16,000 people. Im sure your school only brought 50 people to watch the game anyways, I highly doubt parking was an issue. And the lot where cars park, is mostly gravel, except for the HUGE area that is blacktop!!!!
Oh, one last thing, its MASSILLON!!!! -
ThinthickbigredI like you Coyotes and I respect you ,but I disagree with a few things with you. I have played game in the shoe and it was sobering .the goosbumps came back like the first time I stepped into Harding stadium. It is special. Id say alot of people would love the opportunity to play in the shoe and they could tell theyre grandchildren that they played on that turf. I do agree that if your team gets to a title game the fans most will travel to anywhere ,but having it in a central location cuts driving down for many and hotels wouldnt be necisary. I got no problems with PBTS Fawcett or the parking . I do think some complacentsy has the attendance lowering and I think a shake up is necisary. Having the title games in Dayton is the same for Youngstown and northeastern Ohio as it is now for Cinci people having it in Stark county . If the Browns got synthetic turf Id like to see the games there one year also . Columbus is a great atmosphere believe me .
-
Be Nice^^^hey, at least sombody is on my side. lol Out of due respect I do want to apologize for my spelling. Seriously, I can see why you want the games to stay there. However, many of us believe Ohio State will would be the best location simply because of some of the reasons I've given.
jackwagon.....when you called me that I cracked up. I love that commercial. -

How would Massillon being complacent, affect attendence? -
coyotes22Everybody says that kids would want to play in the shoe. If a kid wants to play in the shoe that bad, he will most likey be going there for college anyway. So big deal there. And the kids that go out of state for college, could prolly care less about "Playing at the shoe". WOOOOOO BFD!!! LOL
And you are still a jackwagon!!!!! This thread makes me want to head on over to manby pamby land!!!! GOOD GRIEF!!!!

ThinthickbigredAlot of HS kids wont play football again and stepping onto the shoe is the last memory they will have . It is very special . with all due respect to you great football fans of Massillon . When I say complacentsy ,I just mean that I dont think lower division state title games mean that much to you guys so you dont attend. Its just the way I see it . Maybe you guys just get flooded with so many games during the course of the playoffs ,I dont know. A rotation is my opinion . I know you guys are passionate and I dont blame you for your coments . However the Horseshoe once again is a special special place to run onto the field . It really is true . It just adds to so many great things when you experience a title game
