Can Westerville North ever recover?

TiernanTwo back to back winless seasons look inevitable for a team that once ruled Central OH football. Have seen them play 3x this season and they are not only small & slow, they are poorly coached.
Only about 35 kids on the Varsity from a school of over 1100 students. Should they lobby to be dropped from the bigger school divisions of the OCC or re-schedule their 3 pre-conference games to play some D4 & D5 teams until they start to register wins? -
GoChiefsThey can lobby to be dropped..but I doubt that would happen just because they are down right now. Maybe schedule some D2 teams that aren't having much success right now or some of the better D3 teams. Not sure what scheduling as low as D4 & D5 would do. Get you a win? Sure. But they boys on that team would still realize they just beat a D4 and D5 team. I don't think that's going to help them much at all.

I was told they had 21 players on the Freshman team incl a few 1st yr Sophs recruited by the coaches. Kids today won't put in the hard work required to turn this thing around unless they get a couple of Ws soon no matter who it is...thats why I suggested D4 or D5. There was even a crazy rumor going around Westerville last week North might have to forfeit the last two games due to injuries. Thankfully this turned out to be false, but it shows the level of anxiety in the community in regards to this situation.Be Nice;527544 wrote:They won't recover this year. Maybe next year.
