Fremont St Joe at Mohawk

Crimson streakSjcc enters at 8-0 while Mohawk enters at 7-1. This is huge game for the mal title and playoff seeding. Thoughts?

0311sdpShould be an interesting game---Mohawk strength -running the football St. Joe's strength--stopping the run. I would expect a low scoring defensive game with a slight upset in the result Mohawk 14 St. Joe 7 (wishful thinking so that the Mohawk- Carey game means something next week) Having not seen Mohawk play yet and St. Joe only once all you can do is compare scores against same opponents, that favors Fremont. What the hell was that 23-18 win over NB Mohawk? I didn't think that Fremont was quite as good this year as they were last year but again that is seeing them play only one time, you see them every week. I think that the MAL as a whole is down quite a bit from the last couple years and that come playoff time no one will have much success (a good chance of no wins) Congrats to both schools for great seasons.

RocketsfanNo chance. The Streaks win big. Too much offense.

0311sdpFremont has probably the best balanced offense in the MAL, and statistically the best defense to go along with it. Mohawk seems to be peeking late in the season but is a run first mentallity team, much like Carey. The fact that it is in Sycamore I think gives Mohawk a real shot at it. The game each of them has played that I can't figure out is Mohawk's close win (23-18) over a bad North Baltimore team and Fremont's close 24-14 win over an equally bad Hopewell Louden. I know you're going to tell me Hopewell is 5-3 but the team I saw last Friday is awful (lost 68-14 to Carey) The Streaks may win as you say but it will not be big, they are far from a dominant team. (although the best the MAL has to offer this season) The playoffs will prove me correct.

Crimson streakHopewell played really well against Sjcc. Last weeks score against Carey really surprised me. Hopewell definitely isn't on the same level as nb. The key in the game will be if Mohawk can stop bowman and force mehelko into some mistakes. I look for a close game and I'll give Sjcc the edge in this one

0311sdpFremont needs the win, not just for an outright MAL title but to stay away from a possible playoff 4-5 rematch with Leipsic who looks to be playiny very well after a slow start. Fremont is the MAL's best hope for a playoff win but must avoid Delphos St. John, Ada, McComb and probably Leipsic to get that win, so they need to win out. As for the Mohawk game, it's hard to go unbeaten, Mohawk really needs a win just to make the playoffs ( and a piece of the MAL title ain't bad either) I agree with you that SJCC is probably a little better overall team but I"ll stick with a Mohawk upset victory in a hard hitting, hard fought MAL battle. I think it's close whoever wins. The H-L team I saw was bad, both sides of the ball, if they somehow make the playoff which they could, they"ll get crushed. (probably by Wynford in a 1-8 matchup)

Crimson streakI actually think Sjcc matches up well with Ada as far as skill positions. I do agree about St johns mccomb and leipsic

0311sdpYou could be right, I think Ada will get exposed next week against Lima Central Catholic. I still think McComb is a good team but Arlington did run on them for 300 yards last week. If they played Leipsic again I think Leipsic wins and St. Johns is just better than anyone else and battle tested. I'm hoping whoever can get in the playoffs from the MAL will play well and represent the League in a positive way.
