ARLINGTON — Andrew Dee was in a zone in the third quarter of McComb’s game against Arlington Friday night, throwing three touchdown passes as the unbeaten Panthers ran away from the Red Devils 40-27.
Dee hooked up with Taylor Hanes three times, including a 59-yard scoring strike, as McComb took a 40-14 lead into the final quarter of play of this Blanchard Valley Conference encounter.
The Panthers (8-0, 7-0 BVC), ranked seventh in the state in Division VI by the Associated Press, tallied 417 yards with Dee going 33 of 51 passing for 374 yards.
He threw four TD passes and did not have an interception. He had a rushing touchdown as well.
Arlington (4-4, 4-3) finished with 362 yards, including 319 on the ground. Cam Brown led the charge with 204 yards on 32 carries. He threw a 16-yard TD pass to John Inniger and ran 9 yards for a TD as the Red Devils tied the game 14-14 in the second quarter.
But Dee shifted the momentum back in favor of the Panthers, hitting Hanes on a 7-yard pass with 28 seconds left in the half to give McComb a 20-14 lead.
