wags6817I got to watch alot of these Florida championships last year. I was very impressed with the speed, but not the quality of play. Will Lakeland get rolled again this year?
-
newarkcatholicfanOne of the Fox College Spory stations I have shows some game sfrom Fla. all season long and then shows the finals. I will be watching again.
-
football71Dear God...how long did it take to type all of that?
-
wgh raiderlakeland is still unbeaten if they get rolled it will be by the best team in the country.a friend of mine whos from ohio lives in florida and he sees alot of lakeland games.
-
Speedofsandtyped in about a minute, most is copy & paste.
Lakeland is undefeated this year, favored tonite, and probably will have a tough game vs. a Tampa area team in the state semifinals. Then they or whoever wins will get rolled by St. Thomas Aquinas -
PreacherI went to Melbourne HS back in early 80's. That is a very competitive confernce.
I see they won 4-0 last week?lol Odd score. -

Most areas had 4 inches of rain Friday, turning the games into mudfests.
N.E. Patriots rb Fred Taylor, formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars, has a son at Belle Glades Day. Kelvin played varsity last year as an 8th grader, allowed in private schools. This year the freshman rushed again for 1400 yards in the reg. season. He has 971 yds in 3 playoff games. 271, 316, and 384 last week in the muck. This week they play for the 1B State title.

SpeedofsandTaylor scored 19 times in four playoff games and now has 76 career touchdowns in two years. (He was eligible to play as an eighth-grader because FHSAA rules state middle-schoolers can participate in varsity sports when they are in the same building as high schoolers).
The 6-foot-, 200-pound Taylor had all but 71 of his team's total yards Friday afternoon. Taylor now has a mind-boggling 4,234 career yards in just two years and is on pace to break Emmitt Smith's state record of 8,804 career rushing yards. -
newarkcatholicfanCaught both tv games last night and I am watching Tampa Catholic get hammered by Boles.

SpeedofsandBolles is some program. Corky Rogers is a legend. 10 state championships and this is their first time back to back. Shows how hard it is to repeat.
The whole state is buzzing about S.T.A. and Lakeland both losing.
In 6A, DeLand was 0-10 two years ago, 6-5 last year and the RB (Mike Gillislee) went to Florida. This year they have 2 RB's. Shontrelle Johnson will go to Northwestern, Pop Saunders will be a Gator in 2011.
Belle Glade Glades Central should win another for the Muck tonite. That little community produces bigtime football players. -
newarkcatholicfanCocoa with the win in the night cap.
Good game. -
Speedofsandfound some highlight videos from local news
edit: DeLand's Shontrelle Johnson has almost 2000 yds. and is de comitting from Northwestern. He is looking at a handful of other offers.
