Week 8: Orrville (5-2, 3-1) vs Mansfield Madison (2-5, 1-3)
-
OQBStill have a lot of things to work on after 7 weeks of football....
-
wallykThe Riders win easily.
-
OQBIf we play 4 quarters of football it will be easy...
We always play to the level of our competition, until we wake up and actually play football. -
ArrowGrad02Orrville names their own score in this one. Watched highlights of the CF/Madison game on WMFD, Madison's run defense is non-exsistent.
-
OQBWe were also tied 6-6 with West Holmes at halftime before we woke up. I'm guessing the same thing will happen next week, I hope it doesn't and we play like we are capable, but we always play down to the level of our competition.
-
BRFIf we don't win by 48 points, we will hear about how we will get beat in week 9.
-
RiderfanIf we don't eliminate penalties and mistakes we will hear how we will lose week 9 and maybe 10.
-
OQBThis is a great opportunity for us to bounce back, work on some things against a weaker opponent, maybe rest Max a little more so he is in better shape for the long haul. I agree BRF, if we don't win by 40+ we will hear it from a few guys from CF.
-
RedRider1turnovers were better in week 7...but 9 more penalties.
HAS. TO. STOP. -
OQBThey will haunt us all season long....Coach D needs to get that discipline back
-
Old RiderRest Max?????
He just needs to decide when he is playing! -
OQBSo are you suggesting that he wasn't trying against Ashland? He was a non-factor because he was slowed down by the injuries (everytime he came off the field he was holding his ribs), and it is impossible to get pressure on a QB when he catches and throws like Fuller did in that game not to mention that will probably be the biggest line we face all year. Why not rest him, do we really need him this week? He has been banged up all season. Why not get him healthy for CF, Wooster, and the playoffs instead of playing him against a bad madison team? What if he did something this week that cost him the rest of the season, then what would you think?
-
Old RiderHe has been "banged up" his whole high school career!
He was slowed because they are well coached and anytime he is blocked either one-on-one or double teamed he is a "non factor" -

Agree 100% with that post, I was just posing a question that's all. Why risk him getting injured in a game like madison when we really need his presence on the field the last two weeks of the season and playoffs. -
RedRider1We need Max (ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL) for weeks 9, 10 and beyond.
I say rest him this week and then it's just time to sack up from there on out. -
OQBExactly, we could of used him on offense last week at least on 3rd downs or in critical situations. But he was injured and coaches wanted to save him for defense.
-
Everyday FanI will enjoy watching this game Friday night, Go Riders!
-
skankDon't worry, I'm quite sure if Madison DOES make a game of it, the officials will intervien at some point....Wait, Mo Tipton isn't there anymore is he? Well still.
-
riders1^^^ huh ?
-
Flashriders1, I think he's alluding to running it up on opponents. Max was a non factor against Ashland because he was in coverage a lot. He wasn't on the line of scrimmage with his ears pinned back. That being said, it would be a valid point to question his ability to stay healthy thru a whole season or even part to of it.

I disagree. If Max is physically able to go he should play. Good leaders lead by example. If they are hurt or sick they have to go out and play and play well. He's D1, his teamates look up to him, we just lost, they need him out there. I think it's time for him to lead. just my opinionRedRider1;514541 wrote:We need Max (ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL) for weeks 9, 10 and beyond.

Your opinion, of the same nature, in the Massillon/Steubenville thread was different because...? I will leave now and stay gone....Unless I hear my name called again. -
OQBBecause that post made no sense and what was the point of it? You had some nice posts over on the other thread, but this one?
