ARCADIA — Liberty-Benton kept Arcadia off the scoreboard in the final three quarters of play and rolled to a 55-14 Blanchard Valley Conference win Friday night.
The Eagles got all they could handle from the Redskins in the opening quarter, leading just 21-14, but a stellar defensive effort allowed L-B to pull away for its third consecutive win.
L-B (5-2, 5-1 BVC) has won the last 15 meetings against Arcadia (3-4, 2-4).
The Eagles used a solid rushing attack, tallying 221 yards, and Zac Cramer was 5 of 6 for 209 yards through the air as Liberty-Benton prevented the Redskins from reaching the four-win mark for the first time since 2006.
Brady Vaught gave the Eagles a 28-14 lead at halftime with a 1-yard scoring run. He finished the night with 131 yards on 15 carries.
Casey Mock threw a pair of TDs for the Redskins on a night when he was 10 of 20 passing for 112 yards. Mock hooked up with Lucas Ward on a 29-yard TD pass and threw a 31-yard scoring strike to Trevor Colman.
Big plays by the Eagles, however, sealed the deal. L-B had three scoring plays that covered at least 26 yards. Chase Cook, who caught two passes for 121 yards, hauled in a 70-yard TD pass from Cramer in the opening quarter for the biggest play of the night.
