HARROD — Jesse Gudakunst ran the ball eight times Friday night, but it was one big run that propelled Bluffton to a 14-7 Northwest Conference victory over Allen East.
Gudakunst, who had 96 rushing yards, rambled 81 yards for a touchdown with 1:11 left in the game and completed the Pirates’ comeback win over the Mustangs.
Jamal Cash scored on a 15-yard run to put Allen East up 7-0 late in the third quarter. Bluffton answered when Hunter Joseph hooked up with Drew Luginbuhl on a 28-yard strike to tie the game with 7:07 left in the game.
Joseph was 9 of 22 passing for 142 yards as the Pirates (3-3, 2-2) slightly outgained Allen East (2-4, 2-3), 237 total yards to 229.
Ross Stewart led the Mustangs with 127 rushing yards on 31 carries.
Logan Sturgill (12 tackles) and Ben Moser (10 tackles) led the Bluffton defense.
