WEEK #6: Newark (1-4, 0-2) @ Groveport Madison (4-1, 1-1)
-
cruiser_96The Wildcats of Newark travel into Cruiser Stadium this friday night in an attempt to get their first conference win of the year. Overall, the Wildcats have faced some stiff competition, losing to opponents with a combined record of 14-6. Last week they lost a heartbreaker to league foe Reynoldsburg by score of 17-14. Look for the Wildcats to want to play spoiler to the Homecoming crowd at Cruiser Stadium.
The Cruisers come into the game with a solid 4-1 record, however, last week's loss could cause concern among the red and black faithful. Up big at the half, the Cruisers saw their lead dwindle and then vanish by the sound of the final whistle. A wise man once said, "Tough times don't last... but tough people do." Here's guessing the Cruisers are focused on showing the rest of the OCC how tough they are and what they can do, even on the heels of disappointment.
Good luck to both teams.

cruiser_96Our entire coaching staff has all said the same thing concerning this week... Newark is a different team this years in more ways than the calendar.
My opinion, Newark notwithstanding, if you're holding on to last Friday, you're not prepared for this Friday. But hey, what do I know... I hang out in Hilliard from time to time!!!! -
Tiger2003It wont be as bad as last year, but it will still be a pretty good beat down.
