CONVOY — Bluffton quarterback Hunter Joseph tossed three touchdown passes to power the Pirates past Convoy Crestview 28-20 in a Northwest Conference football game Friday night.
Joseph fired a 55-yard pass to Jesse Gudakunst and a 63-yard pass to Christian Koch. He capped his 8 of 13, 225-yard passing performance for the Pirates (2-2, 1-1) by hooking up with Drew Luginbuhl for an 81-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
Gudakunst added another long-range score as he galloped 65-yards for a touchdown.
Dallis Gibson threw for a pair of scores and ran for another for the Knights (1-3, 0-2).
Bluffton rushed for 112 yards and passed for 225 as Gudakunst led the way with 96 yards rushing on 11 carries. Luginbuhl caught four passes for 90 yards.
Gibson, meanwhile, was an efficient 17 of 21 passing for 215 yards. Tyler Torrey led Crestview’s 144-yard ground effort with 85 yards on eight carries.
