DI:
1. Colerain (3-0)
The Cardinals beat Louisville (Ky.) DuPont Manuel 34-7 with another dominant effort. Colerain tallied 415 yards of total offense while allowing just 139. Manuel rushed for two yards. Trayion Durham led the Colerain attack with 162 yards and two TDs on 25 carries. The Cardinals are at Fairfield (1-2) next. Previous: 1
2. Glenville (3-0)
The Tarblooders had little trouble with Rhodes, winning 39-6. This week things get tougher with a long road trip and stiff test at undefeated Anderson. Previous: 2
3. Centerville (3-0)
The Elks held two-time defending Division IV state champion Kettering Alter and its offense, which was averaging 396.5 yards per game on the ground, to minus-2 yards rushing in a 24-7 win. This week the Elks face another test with Cleveland St. Ignatius (2-1) heading south. Previous: 4
4. Pickerington Central (2-0)
The Tigers took the week off and had a bye. Now they get to entertain Fairfield County rival Lancaster (2-1), which is coming off a narrow 28-21 loss to St. Ignatius. These two don’t like each other and both are very solid teams. If the Tigers are still undefeated next week, they will have earned it. Previous: 5
5. Cincinnati Moeller (3-0)
The Crusaders dug themselves a 14-6 first half deficit and then scored 45 unanswered points in a 51-14 win at Clayton Northmont. This week Moeller entertains Findlay (1-2). Previous: 6
6. Lakewood St. Edward (3-0)
The Eagles OL, which averages 6-4, 290, is imposing. Just ask Youngtown Mooney which suffered its worst loss since 2002 last week to the Eagles 37-3. This week St. Edward gets a crack at visiting Inkster (Mich.), who is 1-2. Previous: 10
7. Solon (3-0)
The Comets used two second half interception returns for TDs to beat host Mentor 31-21. Solon faces a huge test this week with a road game at undefeated Parma. Previous: 7
8. Hilliard Davidson (3-0)
Davidson just keeps chugging along. The Wildcats latest victim was D-II stalwart Toledo St. Francis (lost 35-14). Up next is Westland (1-2). Previous: 8
9. Cincinnati St. Xavier (2-1)
The Bombers defense impressed limiting Louisville (Ky.) St. Xavier to 74 total yards in a 32-13 win. RB Conor Hundley paced the offense with 251 yards and three TDs on 22 carries. This week St. X hits the road for a game against Louisville (Ky.) Trinity, which just beat Elder. Previous: 9
10. Cincinnati LaSalle (3-0)
The Lancers have only won one GCL South title in history. This could be the year they get No. 2. LaSalle, which is averaging 43 points per game, recently rolled Lakota East 50-21. This week the Lancers tackle visitng Indianapolis Northwest (1-3). Last week: NR
DROPPED OUT: No. 3 Canton McKinley (lost 21-14 to Lake)
KEEP AN EYE ON: Middletown (3-0), Anderson (3-0), Austintown-Fitch (3-0), Canton McKinley (2-1), St. Ignatius (2-1), Sylvania Southview (3-0), Toledo St. John's (3-0), Massillon Perry (3-0), Willoughby South (3-0)
DII:
1. Mentor Lake Catholic (2-1)
The Cougars lost last week and are still No. 1? Yes. How many other teams would win at Youngstown Ursuline? You can probably count them on your two hands. Five turnovers and a horrible first half offense did in the Cougars who fell 14-10. This week things don’t get any easier with another road trip to undefeated contender Walsh Jesuit. We’ll see in a couple days if MLC deserves this ranking. Previous: 1
2. Maple Heights (3-0)
The Mustangs have outscored foes 141-29 this season. In their most recent win – a 61-8 rout of Valley Forge – MH’s RB Devonte Ransom rushed for 210 yards and three TDs on just seven carries. This week the Mustangs hit the road for the third time this season and take on Cleveland Heights (1-2). Previous: 2
3. Winton Woods (2-1)
After their opening loss to Elder, the Warriors have put 102 points on the board, including 53 in their most recent victory – a 53-6 dismantling of Fairfield. This week is a good measuring stick for the Warriors as D-III No. 2 Columbus Watterson comes to town. Previous: 4
4. Trotwood-Madison (3-0)
The Rams have yet to look as talented as their roster suggests. That being said, they are still undefeated thanks to last week’s 24-16 win over Beavercreek. This week things get decidedly tougher with a trip to Wayne (1-2). Previous: 3
5. Avon (3-0)
The Eagles have allowed just three points this year and have recorded back-to-back shutouts, the latest a 23-0 win over Lorain in which they allowed 46 total yards. This week Rocky River (1-2) visits. Previous: 5
6. Turpin (3-0)
The Spartans crushed Indian Hill 50-0. Senior QB Eric Martin has thrown for 646 yards and 10 TDs thus far. He’s also rushed for two more TDs. RB Will Stocker (384 yards rushing, two TDs) is a perfect compliment. Cincinnati Northwest (2-1) visits this Friday. Previous: 6
7. Toledo Central Catholic (3-0)
The Irish survived a difficult test at Indiana big school power Mishawaka Penn (won 10-7). This week winless Start awaits. Previous: 7
8. Warren Howland (3-0)
The Tigers beat D-I rival Warren Harding 25-22 in the schools first meeting since 1998. This week Howland faces a struggling but dangerous Canfield (1-2) club on the road. Previous: 8
9. Marion-Franklin (3-0)
The Red Devils overcame a 7-6 halftime deficit and notched a huge 12-7 road win at fellow D-II power Ashland. Winless Independence awaits. Previous: 9
10. Uniontown Lake (3-0)
The Blue Streaks made a huge statement by handing previously unbeaten and then D-I No. 3 Canton McKinley its first loss (21-14). Now Lake gets to tackle another D-I in visiting Boardman (2-1), which is coming off a win over Akron Hoban. Previous: NR
DROPPED OUT: No. 10 Ashland (lost 12-7 to No. 9 Marion-Franklin)
KEEP ANY EYE ON: Walsh Jesuit (3-0); Dayton Carroll (3-0); New Albany (3-0); Ashland (2-1); Lexington (3-0); Copley (3-0)
DIII:
1. Steubenville (3-0)
Big Red beat rival Brooke (WV) 34-21 in a game that featured a first half fight and was tabbed the “Battle for the Bridge.” Big Red remained undefeated against West Virginia opponents since 1963, by running the ball 54 times for 293 yards. This week St. John’s College (1-1) from Washington, D.C. comes to Steubenville. Previous: 2
2. Watterson (3-0)
The Eagles cruised past Cathedral from Ontario, Canada 56-0. Things get decidedly more difficult this week with Watterson’s toughest test to date – a trip to D-II No. 4 Winton Woods (2-1) – looming. Previous: 4
3. Youngstown Mooney (2-1)
The Cardinals couldn’t beat their third straight D-I team and lost 37-3 to Lakewood St. Edward. It was Mooney’s worst loss since a 42-0 defeat to Warren Harding in 2002. Another tough one is on the docket this week with a trip to No. 4 Columbus DeSales scheduled. Previous: 3
4. Columbus DeSales (2-1)
The Stallions still own the series lead over New Albany, but last week’s 13-10 overtime loss stings. No time to reflect though. No. 3 Mooney comes to town this week and surprisingly the Cardinals are coming off a loss of their own – to Lakewood St. Edward. Previous: 1
5. Akron SVSM (2-1)
The Irish edged then No. 9 Buchtel 7-6, stopping the would-be game-winning two-point conversion with no time left. Whew. Indiana recruit Mark Murphy rushed for 40 yards and a TD and added an interception, but his biggest play came on the final snap when he and Joe Breiding stopped Buchtel’s two-point run short of the goal line. This week the Irish travel to Euclid (1-2). Previous: 10
6. Marlington (3-0)
The Dukes scored 40 points or more for the third straight week with a 40-24 win over Poland. Marlington churned out 480 yards on 55 carries. RB Alden Hill ran for 218 yards, while backfield mate Dymonte Thomas ran for 178. This week a road game at Canal Fulton Northwest (1-2) awaits. Previous: 7
7. Cincinnati McNicholas (3-0)
The Rockets appear to be Cincinnati’s best D-III team through three weeks and have posted back-to-back shutouts over New Richmond and Medway (Canada). Senior QB Matt Staubach has thrown for 118 yards (only 14 attempts on the season) and has rushed for 340 yards and six TDs. This week will be a good measuring stick with fellow unbeaten Fenwick visiting. Previous: NR
8. Wyoming (2-1)
The Cowboys shut out Norwood 40-0. Senior QB Robert Gomez, filling in for the injured Kyle Seyfried (first team All-Ohio), has thrown for four TDs and run for another in two starts. This week Reading (2-1) makes a visit. Previous: 8
9. Dover (2-1)
The Tornados scored on a 66-yard pass play from Derik Swinderman to Logan Maholm with less than eight minutes to go to edge Canfield 17-13 in a big non-conference game. This week the Tornadoes face another non-league test at Dresden Tri-Valley (2-1). Previous: 10
10. Cincinnati Roger Bacon (3-0)
The Spartans are off to their best start since 2001. Senior QB Tanner Sprong leads the GCL Central Division in passing yards (430) and TDs (four), while junior RB Griffin Monty leads the division in rushing yards (333) and is second in TDs (five). This week the Spartans play their third home game in a stretch of five straight against formidable foe Chaminade Julienne (2-1). Previous: NR

KEEP AN EYE ON: Eaton (3-0); Clyde (3-0); Tippecanoe (3-0); Kenton Ridge (3-0); Napoleon (3-0); Akron Buchtel (1-2); Thornville Sheridan (3-0); Salem (3-0) -
coyotes22DIV:
1. Kettering Alter (2-1)
The Knights had their 32-game (on field) winning streak snapped with a 24-7 loss to D-I No. 4 Centerville. A crowd of 12,000-plus saw Centerville hold Alter to minus-2 yards rushing in the first meeting between the neighborhood rivals since 1967. Ouch is right. The simple fact of the matter is that NO D-IV team in Ohio is beating Centerville this year. The question IS can a D-IV team in Ohio beat Alter? This week the Knights travel to Purcell-Marian (1-2), which is the last team on their schedule (right now) with a losing record. Previous: 1
2. Kenton (3-0)
The Wildcats beat Lima Shawnee 54-14 as junior QB Maty Mauk completed 35-of-56 passes for 476 yards and seven TDs. Mauk has thrown for 16 TDs in three weeks. This week Kenton faces what will be its toughest remaining test until the playoffs begin – a trip to No. 8 and undefeated Ottawa-Glandorf. Previous: 2
3. Clinton-Massie (3-0)
The Falcons survived a trip to Plain City by edging host Jonathan Alder 28-27. Senior DE Charles Harpen blocked a PAT with less than two minutes to go to preserve the win. This week the Falcons, who had 304 yards rushing against the Pioneers, welcome Hillsboro (1-2) to Clarksville. Previous: 3
4. Columbus Hartley (3-0)
You read that score right: Hartley 54, Bexley 7. The Hawks were led by Noah Key who rushed for 194 yards and four first half TDs. He also had an interception. Up next for Hartley is a big road test at undefeated and No. 5 Elyria Catholic. Previous: 4
5. Elyria Catholic (3-0)
The Panthers beat rival Elyria 56-35 in the teams first meeting in 61 years. Senior QB Danny Reaser set Lorain County records for passing yards (508) and passing TDs (six) in a game. This week Reaser and Co. get a huge test in the form of No. 4 Hartley which heads north from Columbus. Previous: 6
6. Campbell Memorial (3-0)
The Devils survived Youngstown Liberty 15-14, and again turnovers plagued the offense. Better ball security is a must. This week Memorial plays its third straight home game as Brookfield (1-2) comes to Campbell. Previous: 5
7. Chagrin Falls (3-0)
QB Tim Porter and Spencer Diedrich hooked up for two TDs as the Tigers beat Field 21-14. This week Chagrin Falls gets a good test with Aurora (2-1) coming to town. Previous: 7
8. Ottawa-Glandorf (3-0)

9. Ironton (3-0)
The Tigers ran the ball 57 times for 335 yards in a 24-6 win over Chillicothe. In all, five different Tigers logged 40 yards or more on the ground. This week things get ratcheted up a couple notches with undefeated Ashland (Ky.) Blazer coming to Ironton for the Tigers home opener. Previous: 9
10. Jonathan Alder (2-1)
The Pioneers came painfully close to beating No. 3 Clinton-Massie before falling 28-27. Alder had a PAT blocked with less than two minutes to go. This week winless Miami Trace heads to Plain City. Previous: 9

DV:
1. Youngstown Ursuline (3-0)
Any question about who the state’s top D-V (and small school) team is was answered by the Irish’s 14-10 win over D-II No. 1 Mentor Lake Catholic. Ursuline forced five turnovers. This week the victim will be Bedford (0-3). Previous: 1
2. Anna (3-0)
The Rockets posted yet another impressive win, this one their first victory ever over Coldwater, 38-28. Anna led 35-14 in the second half. Things don’t get any easier this week with a trip to D-VI No. 1 and undefeated Delphos St. John’s. Expect that one to be packed – it’s Saturday night in Delphos. Oh yeah, next week, Anna gets Marion Local. Previous: 2
3. Oak Hill (3-0)
The Oaks didn’t get much of a challenge from Rock Hill which fell 37-0. This week a much stiffer test awaits with Wellston coming to town. The Rockets are just 1-2 but have lost to undefeated Minford and Gallia Academy. In Week 5 the Oaks face Minford. Previous: 3
4. Cuyahoga Heights (3-0)
The Redskins kept their torrid pace by blasting Burton Berkshire 49-6. Junior QB Alex Zander completed 7-of-10 passes for 174 yards and two TDs. This week CH hits the road for a game at winless Newbury. Previous: 4
5. Patrick Henry (3-0)

6. Lima Central Catholic (2-1)
The T-Birds rolled to a 55-7 win over Paulding with junior QB Tyler O’Connor accounting for 28 points. O’Connor threw three TD passes, ran for another score and kicked four PATs. This week LCC gets a good road test at Columbus Gove (2-1). Previous: 6
7. Fredericktown (3-0)

2. Ada (3-0)
The Bulldogs fell short of their 69.5 points per game average after two weeks, but still managed an impressive 38-20 win over previously unbeaten Columbus Grove. Kellen Decker ran for three TDs and Konnor Baker threw for three. This week another good test arrives in the form of Toledo Christian (2-1). Previous: 2

7. Bridgeport (3-0)
Just how good are the Bulldogs? It’s hard to tell. Bridgeport has outscored its opponents 129-7 and has two shut outs, the most recent a 47-0 decision over Conotton Valley. The trouble is Bridgeport’s opponents are a combined 0-9. This week the Bulldogs get a chance to beat a team with a winning record with Zanesville Rosecrans (1-2) heading to the river. The two weeks after that, current undefeated West Virginia heavyweights await – Wheeling Central Catholic and Madonna. Previous: 7
8. Mogadore (3-0)
With senior stud Kodey Chance still nursing an injured shoulder (and only playing limited minutes on defense), the Wildcats downed West Salem Northwestern 35-14. Senior QB Adam Schrank completed 7-of-11 passes for 98 yards and two TDs, while RBs Jake McAvinew (85 yards) and Gary Strain (76) did work on the ground. A match-up with Rootstown (2-1) this week marks a three-game stretch against teams with winning records. Previous: 8
9. Lehman Catholic (2-1)
Senior RB Kaleb Goins posted his third straight game with over 180 yards rushing and the Cavaliers beat Indian Lake 34-6. This week a long road trip awaits with a game at Bloomdale Elmwood (2-1). Previous: 9
10. Fremont St. Joseph (3-0)
The Crimson Streaks beat Gibsonburg 34-10 and are now averaging 46 points per game. Zak Bowman carried the ball 19 times for 166 yards and two TDs in the win. This week Carey (1-2) comes to town. Previous: 10

Yep you are right... -
Be NiceClinton Massie being ranked in the top 10 is a joke. Myself and an ex high school football coach like to attend various high school games. Last week was the Alder vs. Massie game. Alder plain and simple gave them the game. Alder played sloppy. Massie was one deminsional running over right tackle the entire game. Alder should have adjusted quicker. Yea, Massie won the game, but we weren't too impressed. Look at Massie's two cupcake opponents week one and two. Alder beat 2 legit D1 opponents their first two games yet look where they're ranked. End of story.

ThinthickbigredStrong small schools down in the river city area . Bridgeport and or Shadyside will make the state semis atleast.
-
ThinthickbigredLook out for Uniontown Lake in D-II They might be taking over Loouisvilles position as top dog in the Stark county area. Every year Stark county IMO has the best overall football in the USA. They just dont usually have one particular team stand out and win Big school state . But they have great schools in each division . It really is unique. Cinci has great football in the Big school catholic ranks but that consists of Kentucky and even Indiana and outlining counties . Stark county is the chit . Congrats to that county for such outstanding competitive football .

Shadyside won't get past Newark Catholic (most likely) so they won't make the state semis. -
justcompeteLove the top 4 teams in D-III. I wish they could play each other every year.
-
ThinthickbigredIm not a Shadyside fan but they beat a pretty good D-III team last week in Harrison Central so the jury is still out on whether they could beat NC. Bridgeport is very good this year .
