NORTHWOOD — In a game that featured 10 turnovers between the two teams, Hopewell-Loudon’s Tyler Tyree found Logan Sendelbach with less than three minutes remaining for a touchdown and the Chieftains escaped with an 18-12 non-conference victory over three-time defending Toledo Area Athletic Conference champ Northwood.
Tyree, who scored the first Hopewell-Loudon touchdown on a 1-yard run, found Sendelbach for a game-winning 24-yard scoring strike with 2:52 left in the game.
The Chieftains’ defense came up big by recovering three Rangers fumbles and intercepting three passes.
H-L, however, had four turnovers, including three interceptions.
With the win, the Chieftains improve to 3-0 to start the season for the seventh straight year and extended their regular-season non-conference win streak to 21 straight games.
