MCCOMB — The McComb combination of quarterback Andrew Dee and receiver Taylor Hanes has been lethal through the first two weeks of the season with the duo connecting on six touchdowns.
The pair nearly doubled their season totals Friday night as the Panthers scored early and often in defeating Blanchard Valley Conference rival Van Buren 54-3.
Dee hooked up with Hanes for touchdowns of 10, 18, 26, 58 and 38 yards in the first half.
The McComb signalcaller finished 19 of 25 passing for 356 yards and added a 9-yard scoring strike to Mason Roth.
Hanes pulled in nine passes for 232 yards, while Roth had four receptions for 42 yards.
Jerry Brown (71 yards) and Austin Inbody (9 yards) each added third-quarter rushing touchdowns for McComb (3-0, 2-0 BVC), which defeated the Black Knights for the 12th straight time.
Van Buren (0-3, 0-2) scored its first points of the season when Drew Ashcraft connected on a 28-yard field goal in the first quarter.
Matt Devore led the Black Knights with 22 yards on 5 carries and Ryan Adoph was 5-18 for 98 yards.
The McComb defense held Van Buren to 135 yards and 5 first downs.
