1.Caldwell- We will soon know how good they are Barnesville and MC next 2 weeks. 2.Fort Frye rolling but looked slugish at times lots of weapons. 3.Monroe Central-Kinchen 7 for 17 with 3 picks and zero points. 4.Shenandoah-Big game from Crum but Belpre has lost 15 in a row.5.Frontier-Called this they don't have a front 7.6.River-Getting better lead Ntown 14-0.7.Trail-Yea

I'd have to agree with those rankings. Monroe Central's loss surprised me. I know Shadyside is usually good, but I figured Monroe could overpower them. Sounds like a tough game for Kinchens. Tough stretch for coming up for Caldwell. Of course beating both would be ideal, a 1-1 record through the next two weeks wouldn't be to bad. I don't know much about Barnesville, and Central's perception of invincibility may have taken a hit.

    Some stats from Caldwells game.
Caldwell had 30 rushes for 352 yards. 46 yards passing. Snodgrass had 47 yards on 7 carries and 2 TD's. Rossiter had 138 yards on 9 carries for 2 TD's. Several others with close to 50 yards. Believe Caldwell forced 3 or 4 turnovers as well.

I don't think anyone has proven anything.FF has beat 2 awful teams but River is better then most think and they hadd the 38-0 lead going into mop time.Devol said it today they have beat up on bad teams even tho Nstown is a 5-5 team.Frontier is not that great with the lack of line.Barnesville is a good football team.

Noles are still the best team in the league until a PVC team beats them imo. Shadyside will likely win Region 23. With 17 starters returning for them there's no shame in losing to them. Kinchen is still learning the position and I warned a lot of the fans it won't be all pretty, and the Shadyside game worried me. The Noles last lost a PVC game on 9/5/2008. When a PVC team beats them I'll concede the #1 spot. Maybe that will be in two weeks against Caldwell, and maybe not.

It's just a rumor I heard, and maybe an MC fan could clear the air, but I heard that Kinchen's hurt and could possibly be out for a couple weeks? Read in the paper that he didn't practice until Thursday and couldn't really run because of trouble with one of his knees. What's the word on that?

It's obvious he had more than just cramping in the Columbiana game. But I won't add any fuel to this rumor because at this point I have no idea if he's going to be out any games. This is purely my opinion, but if he is hurt a little then they definitely should rest him against River, and revaluate him the week of Caldwell.

By my observations against Shadyside, they didn't call many QB draws or designed runs. When he did run.. mainly in the 4th Q.. he wasn't running with a limp. They were running about half the offense they did against Columbiana. If he was hurt the coaches should have yanked him and put the backup in. People will be surprised how capable the backup is.

i also thought kinchen ran well. a lot of his runs were because of pressure. i think a lack of qb play showed with his bad decisions on throwing(3 ints). seemed to me MC's line tired late in the third quarter.

That's been happening in recent years and will continue to happen. Coach Circosta, as much as I respect the hell out him, is old school in believing that you play your best athletes regardless. Doesn't apply today with the advanced passing and spread offenses. Kids today run so much more during a football game compared to what we did 20 years ago it's amazing. If you're gonna run the spread you got to sneak backups in throughout on defense. It's harder to pass block than it is to run block. Then you turn around and have to chase a little QB all over the field on defense. Takes a lot out of a lineman. We still have the Circosta 15. 11 starters both ways and maybe 3 or 4 subs that see action. Unrealistic. You need about 20 minimum especially come playoff time when you face a team like Wheelersburg that basically has separate offense and defensive players.
