LEIPSIC — Liam Nadler picked up where he left off last season.
The Leipsic quarterback was 12 of 21 passing for 189 yards and two touchdowns as the Vikings smashed Delphos Jefferson 35-7 Friday night in the season opener for both teams.
Nadler, who threw for more than 1,300 yards a year ago, connected with Trevor Schroeder and Dylan Niese on TD passes in the second half to secure the win over the Wildcats.
Schroeder ran for a pair of TDs as well, opening the game with a 45-yard run to the end zone and scoring on a 1-yard burst in the first quarter as the Vikings jumped in front 14-0.
Leipsic finished with 163 yards on the ground and limited the Wildcats to only 43 rushing yards. The Vikings forced and recovered three fumbles.
