Elida quarterback Reggie McAdams made plays running and throwing and led the Bulldogs to a 21-7 non-conference victory over Liberty-Benton Friday night on opening night.
McAdams, who accounted for 293 yards last season against the Eagles, had another strong game Friday.
He threw for 131 yards on 14 of 21 passing and only rushed for 19 total yards, but scored twice on the ground.
McAdams found the end zone twice in the first quarter on runs of four and one yard.
He then hooked up with Kevin Kraft for a 14-yard pass to cap Elida’s scoring in the third quarter.
Colin Blymyer ran for 131 yards on 26 carries as the Bulldogs outrushed the Eagles 172-83.
Mitch Linhart threw for 175 yards on 12-24 passing in his L-B debut, but was picked off twice. He also ran for 67 yards, including a six-yard run in the third quarter.
His main target was Seth Davis, who caught seven passes for 140 yards.
