rmolin73Thoughts? My prediction is Southview 28 Toledo St. Francis 10

sjmvsfscs08I thought St. Francis returned much of their team from last year, no?

karen lotzCromwell retired didn't he?

rmolin73St. Francis lost a lot of their skills positions from graduation including their big play receiver Scott Loy. They also lost their QB, RB and entire LB corp. Cromwell retired as well as their long time defensive coordinator. They just suffered a few injuries to the current QB Yozdis as well as another player Meinhart. In my opinion even if they were playing I would still say Southview 28-10. The losses coupled with poor showings in the scrimmages solidifies that for me. They do although return the offensive line.

KnightXC1Pathetic defensive showing from SFS last night coupled with no ability to pass the football and God awful play calling cost them this game. 2 missed extra points also cost them big time. The running game was fine and drove down the field on Southview basically at will but there is no passing game and when they do pass they rolll a right handed QB to the left and expect him to throw across his body, which is the dumbest idea ever. It hasn't worked in 20 years and doesn't work now. SV rolled the right handed QB right and he was able to make very good passes. Why SFS hasn't figured that out is beyond me.

rmolin73If you noticed once there was a chage on the defensive side of the ball at middle linebacker St. Franics's running game became non-existent. It was the QB option that was getting Southview and #47 Fisher stopped that as well as stopping Beauch in the second half. Other than the pass to the tight end they really didn't generate much offense in the second half. Also Southview's offense was pretty much unstoppable 517 yards of total offense which could have been 600 when one score was called back after another questionable call. Once Southview who played rather vanilla in the first half started to throw the ball and stopped making stupid mistakes it opened up their run game and the overall team speed was too much for the St. Francis defense. As far as passing the ball rewatch it on BCSN they corners left no space for the receivers and when St. Francis tried to pass in the middle Gant and Pinckney were to athletic and pretty much swatted the balls down. The QB's for Southview rolled both ways.

dwccrewI think one thing that was hurting SV was how many penalties they were giving. I think I saw 3 penalties in a row on one series. If Sv can limit the penalties, this team should be a force. There is a lot of talent on this team, mix that in with discipline and you have a dangerous combo.

rmolin73That is so true dwccrew it was the first series. I don't know if it was first game jitters or what but if they fix that watch out.
