Eastwood has done a little better recently, winning 2 games a few years ago. They have made some strides after their first few appearances where they were matched up against Bishop Waterson and Columbus DeSales.

Tough for me to follow as much from far away, but I follow the NLL.
Last years game at Sylvania-Holland started out close, but Ada's physical strength and athleticism over took TC and I think the final ended up 77-24 with starters out after 1 series of 2nd half. Do I think it will be the same this year..no. Ada again has some very good athletes and the lines are VERY strong, but TC was fairly young last year and bring back quite a few of the regular players. Should be a lot closer game this year

If my memory serves me correctly Eastwood is 5-6 in state playoff games. Wins against Upper Sandusky, Napoleon, Genoa, Galion, and Elyria Catholic. Loses to Marion Pleasant x2, O-G, Kenton, Desales, and Bishop Waterson.

I played baseball and basketball with him. Best athlete I ever played with/competed against.

I think you are right, their first 3 playoff games were Waterson, DeSales, and Kenton when Kenton was coming off their state title year. Not exactly easy teams to break onto the playoff scene against.

2009 Genoa and 1981 Otsego were the only teams in the SLL to make it to the Final 4. Otsego was runner ups in 1981

ha I just saw his dad at a golf scramble two weekends ago. Did he play at Central?
  • vball10set
he sure did--he was all-state in basketball, and even had a full ride to BG (eery, isn't it?)..but he quit and came back to Toledo for a girl, whom he eventually broke up with--it really sucked...he's a great guy though, isn't he???
  • karen lotz

    Go TAAC! hahahah

Seriously Northwood runs that place, and will continue to do so until other teams discover this thing rumored to be called a "weightroom." Teams that have beaten Northwood off the thrown, (Cardinal Stritch in 2006, Ottawa Hills in 2005) did so almost entirely form being more athletic. Northwood is the only school that takes football seriously, and thus the only school that wins consistently.

Anyone who seriously thinks the TAAC is anywhere close to the SLL needs to leave quietly.

Also, go Cardinals and go Comets!

I don't know you, well maybe I do, but I have always played in the golf tourney. Aaron was a man amongst boys in sports and life. What a great kid/Man he was. ""damn near tears running down my face""

I suppose its possible. I didn't play in Aaron's scramble this year but I have in the past. I saw his dad at a different one at Forrest Creason a couple of weekends ago. Did you go to Genoa around the time Aaron was there?

I assume you meant Eastwood, not Genoa. No, I didn't go to school with him, but am a close friend.
