Great matchup. Before entering the pick 'em I want to read more about Columbiana. Usually, and that doesn't necessarily mean this year; but usually Columbiana has huge size, but average speed and they just try to bulldoze. MC usually is small but above average speed. Leaning toward MC right now. But an intriguing week 1 matchup.

I know absolutely nothing about Columbiana, so like barbarian, i'm going to hold off on the pick'em till I find out more about them. Hoping for a MC win though. Gotta pull for the PVC team.

MC played Crestview @ home in 2008. If I am remembering right, it came down to the wire. Glad to see they decided to play again. Maybe they will just make this a yearly thing. I do not know much about either team this year. Historically, the both teams reload, so its hard to tell which way its going to go. I will say MC because I know many of the seniors personally and wish them luck in their season.

This isn't Columbiana Crestview High School. It's Columbiana High School (Clippers). Crestview is D5, and is the rural school. Columbiana is D6, and the school for the village of Columbiana. Perennial D6 playoff team. Lost to Shadyside last year in the first round.

Also, the title says "@ Columbiana" but this is actually being played at Steubenville's Harding Stadium. It's WTOV9's Game of the Week.

Well the Noles will have a pretty good team once they play themselves into shape because they obviously are unable to go 4 quarters at this point. Noles should have had about 50 points on the board until cramps and fatigue set in.

I've said it before and I'll say it again football has changed. If you want to run the Spread you HAVE to sub in more players because the amount of running required in the Spread is tons more than the old traditional run oriented offenses. You better have 3 kids subbing in on the defensive line to give the starters a break now and then. If they're freshmen then so be it.. get them ready and pick spots where you get them a series or two. Gone are the days of you play your athletes only. Kids run the spread and then turn around and try to defend it. WRs run 30 yards almost every play then turn around and defend kids doing the same. And we wonder why they cramp up and run out of gas by the end of the 3rd Q.

Shadyside probably shouldn't beat the Noles based on talent alone, but conditioning will play a key role in this game. If the Noles don't have a 30 point lead going into the 4th (and I doubt they will), then I think the Tigers have a great chance to win.
