Wk. 1: Orrville at Canal Fulton Northwest

  Lets get the chatter started...
  
  What matchups are the Red Riders looking for? Any big players that we can watch out for? Strengths? Weaknesses?
  
  Based on our Massillon scrimmages...I will venture a guess that Orrville will have some troubles defending our spread this year along with troubles passing against us.
  
  Our Run D looked a little shakey in the scrimmage...but I am sure that the coaches will have the boys ready for kickoff!
  
  Can't wait! Only 266 hours and 9 minutes! Whoot!

  Orrville will want to line up and run it at you with their two good backs, Monheim and Simpson. They have a new QB (they're still deciding), but the QB is in great shape with what looks to be a great running game and some very talented receivers around him. Their lines will be good and tough once again. All around, Orrville does not have the studs they did last year but still a few men among boys that can control a game.

  Northwest didn't even see a decent JV team out of us last year with injuries and suspensions. Then in the first series the one young gun we were going to ride the back of breaks his fibula. I can assure you we will field a team ready to compete in Canal Fulton and ready we will need to be as the Indians, year in and year out, provide all we can handle. Vic does a great job for the program. We will want to utilize out size speed combination on defense. being able to field a defense with 3 LBs and 3 DBs running in the 4.5's for a 40 yard dash I think we will hold our own against any spread. We have kid ( IU commit) 6'5" 225lb coming off the edge who ran a 4.51. Any spread QB will not have a ton of time back there. It should be another great game. They all have been except last year during the thunderstorm era.

  Our DB's and LB's will need to make plays...can't play soft coverage all night.
  
  This a team that we need to play some physical ball against. A good case of gator arms may develop if we stick a few WR's early on.
  
  Keep the game simple on offense, lean on your run game but show the ability to pass and use the big play as a difference maker.
  
  Can't start 0-1 again....haven't beat NW since 2006...time to change that.

  I may have to take "my talents" to this match-up Week 1. There is no way in hades that I'm driving to Galion.

  Figured you guys would have a strong running attack. NW really needs to work on that the next couple of weeks or this could be a long game!

  nwindiandad is a Northwest fan (thought it was fairly obvious). We dont need any more Orrville posters to talk about how great we are...we do just fine in that department.

  Sorry I am late to the party. Been ridiculously busy with learning a new profession. (I put a full page add in the program, see if you can find me!) Not ashamed to say my head is spinning a bit. Probably the same way the RR db's will be feeling on the 27th. From what I understand, we are just as potent as last year in the 5 wide with the added ability to play a little smash mouth thanks to some added beef up front. Can anyone confirm this? I am purely going off rumor and 4th party info at this point.

  Well, I am back in the fold, after a long layoff from "the other sports forum". Go Indians. I am really looking forward to the first game of the season. The Orrville game is always a "slobberknocker".

  Anyone have the exact details for the Garfield Scrimmage. I have been hearing a lot of different times and dates from different sources. If someone that actually knows can clear this up for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

  I can't believe it has been since 2006. That is horrible. Riders need to step up this game could be a make or break in week 1. It is that important!
