I like Dr. Ray's for Dover, but I would make a couple of changes:
1 - Orrville (always very entertaining games to watch)
2 - Lake (great games in the late 90's/ early 00's)
3 - Northwest (if the levy fails I wouldn't mind Canton South. It has been a competitive game for a few years with both schools)
4 - Coshocton (long time rival that gives us a competitive game, although it wouldn't appear that way if you only looked at the all-time W/L of the series)
5 - Zanesville (new member to ECOL, competitive team in Eastern District, nice stadium. should be a good rival)
6 - Ashland (back on our schedule last year after a long hiatus after the break up of the Cardinal Conference)
7 - Big Red (no explanation needed)
8 - Cambridge (longtime rival and conference foe)
9 - Sheridan or Licking Valley (both have had our number in the playoffs, either one would be a great game every year)
10 - New Philadelphia (3rd longest rivalry in Ohio, and it is great to read all the articles in the Times Reporter all week leading up to the game making it sound like the Quakers have a shot this year when you know nothing has changed from last years beat down.)

I am a Bellaire fan. Assuming they would be as good as they were before this downturn the past three years, I would like to see this as our schedule. Keep in mind, I love going to places I;ve never been.
    1. West Layfayette Ridgewood - A
    2. Chagrin Falls - A
    3. Amanda Clearcreek - A
    4. St. Clairsville - H
    5. Lemon Monroe - A
    6. Shadyside - H
    7. Patrick Henry - A
    8. West Jefferson - H
    9. Wheelersburg - A
    10. Martins Ferry - H

Now, if we are going to continue this skid, here is my suggested schedule:
    1. St. John Central H
    2. Meadowbrook H
    3. Garaway A
    4. St Clairsville H
    5. Buckeye Trail A
    6. Claymont A
    7. Edison Local H
    8. Steubenville Central A
    9. River H
    10. Martins Ferry H

    1. @ Big Red--get a shot a redemption and see us play in Death Valley.
    2. East Liverpool--just to get a break between week 1 and 3 and I'd still like to destroy them ;) And at home because NO ONE wants to go to Patterson, including the Potters lol.
    3. Mooney--love to see us play competition like this, although we have a long way to go to compete on that level.
    4. @ Hubbard--more redemption.
    5. @ Girard--see above.
    6. Holy Name--had an epic battle with them in 2005, one of the best games I've seen and I'd like to see it again.
    7. @ Lakeview--a matchup that a lot of people probably want to see again.
    8. East Palestine--because their fans are some of the most annoying around and always seem to think they could beat us. Last time I saw them try it was ugly. Plus we'd need an easier one on this list!
    9. @ Poland--it was always fun when we played Poland, I remember the "infection game". There have been some good games in that series over the last 5-6 years. Bring back some MAC flavor.
    10. West Branch--still a rivalry but I'd love to see it heat up again.

    That'd be a tough schedule.
That is an incredibly rough schedule, and while I think that the 2010 Quakers could probably handle it, once the current Junior class is out the door, the Quakers are going to probably be back to some pretty mediocre seasons.

I would like to see Steubenville Hubbard Girard and Lakeview all make regular season appearances though, pass on Mooney and Poland.

I do agree that we can't keep playing teams like United if the goal is the playoffs, though it is a favorite among the students here, due to the proximity of our schools.
  • SQ_Crazies
Never claimed it'd be an easy schedule. I'm not sure any Salem team EVER could handle it--including this years or next years. But I'd like it see it.

Who cares if United is a student favorite--we gain nothing playing them, if our team is actually competitive against our conference schedule we'll beat United by 4+ scores every year. Of course there have been years where we've lost to United, but Salem was just downright terrible then.

Ok here's my dream Mooney REVENGE schedule:
Jackson Milton (the only local team with whom we enjoy a losing record, 0-1)
Alliance (close enough to be local, yet we're 0-1 against them)
Galion (1985, need I say more)
    Ironton (1999, 0-1)
Bellaire (2-2, and that isn't good enough)
Coldwater (even though I root for my friends from Coldwater every week, 0-2 is awful)
    Woodland Hills (0-1)
NDCL (because when they were just Cathedral Latin, we're 0-1 against them)
Cleveland John Adams (we're 0-1, are you kidding me?)
Goshen Union (no longer exists, but let's resurrect them 'cause we're 0-1 against them)
What can I say, I'm obsessed.

Youngstown Cardinal Mooney SEVEN time State Champions

    I love it!

I would also like to see VASJ return to the schedule. The last time Mooney played them was a loss in the playoffs in 2003.

From what I understand Findlay will be week two. As far as Clyde goes you could switch them with Bellevue and I'd be ok with that.

    I like that "2-2" ! :D

All things considered, it will probably be a while before Bellaire/Mooney meet up again. :::sigh:::
Who knows? It just might be 3-2 Bellaire! ;)

Buckeye Local and Matins Ferry only started playing week 1 3 years ago when they installed turf.

If I am correct they always played like the 5th or 6th game before 2007

With the Buckeye 8 going to the 4-10 structure Id like to see us play more teams like Steubenville Zanesville or New Lexington
