The 2010-2011 school year marks the last season of the 6 team league, which includes Sandusky, Lima Sr, Fremont Ross, Marion Harding, Finlday, and Napoleon.
All but Marion Harding have found other leagues for the 2011-2012 seasons.
With that said, and I'm not sure how many GBC'ers there are here, but this could be a thread to use for discussion about the upcoming football season.
I can't speak for the rest of the teams, but Sandusky should be strong this year. After starting 0-3 last season, they finished 5-5 and finished in a 3 way tie for the GBC title. Finished down the stretch with impressive wins over Findlay 21-7 and rival Fremont Ross 30-0.
Stacked at RB with Cordney Strickland returning, Winston, Xavier Turner (who ironically is one of the top baseball prospects in Ohio as well) and some kid from Alabama who transfered up here and reportedly runs a 4.5.
At QB, you have JR Lucas Poggiali making his debut as the #1 guy in the depth chart. He played pretty well last season when he got in and not only has a strong arm, but is pretty mobile as well. Hopefully he's worked on his accuracy throwing the ball this offseason to continue his growth.
At WR you have some solid players, but none more so than Tristen Jefferies. Jefferies can catch ANYTHING. He's getting some serious looks from B10 teams such as OSU and Michigan, as well as others like ND.
Defense should be "good" not great. We always have the athletes, it's just a matter of putting everything together.
Our schedule is much tougher this year though, so we could conceivably go 5-5 but be a much better team than last season. (Which I think we are)... I'm hoping for 6-4 or 7-3 though.
