Youngstown Mooney def. Steubenville 45-7
-
JP1992Do you think that Steubenville will just assume that Mooney won't throw the ball at all and not worry about the pass? I guarantee that Inkster threw the ball better than Mooney can, although I'm sure Mooney runs the ball better. We will just have to wait and see how it all plays out on Friday.
-
snyds113I think they are going to run run run.I ddon't think they are going to pass.Maybe 6 times they will pass.
-
JP1992Whether or not they will pass will depend on how well we can stop or contain their run. If they run it down our throats, then no need to pass. However, if we make running the ball hard for them, then look for more passing. I hope we can force them to pass. That means we're doing something well defensively.
-
snyds113Yeh Idon't think we are going to have to put 8 in the box to hold up the run all the time.

You're right...you might need 9 or 10...snyds113 wrote: Yeh Idon't think we are going to have to put 8 in the box to hold up the run all the time. -
snyds113Well the Big RED defense is pretty good. Most were soph.and juniors last year. They grew in strength just like your team did.

ZalKathSorry about being all deep and funny, snyds...I'll try to be more swallow in my future witticisms

BEAST 0332Good luck to both teams! Don't care who wins, but I believe D-III belongs to Mooney this year.

FairwoodKingBig Red got rid of the Mooney jinx last year and we got rid of the Massillon jinx this year. Big Red is on a roll!!!

Cmhs74I agree with JP that this game is going to be close. You have two highly competitive teams with great traditions. Neither will give up. As to who will win, whoever executes better. Both of these teams are capable of winning this game in any conditions, it's just who wants it more. FairwoodKing states that Big Red got rid of the Mooney jinx last year, true so they know they can win. Mooney knows how it felt to lose to Big Red last year and be knocked out of the playoffs and they don't want that to happen again so they'll want revenge. We can all sit here at our keyboards and type what we want but it's going to come down to two teams of teenagers playing what might be the most important game of their young lives. Question is, who wants it more. Good luck to both teams, play hard and injury free. GO CARDS

S.B-RedI think this will be a good game and I have a feeling you will see big red pass more in this game its the semi finals and its time to start opening up the playbook.

I like you...you make sense...may it be a great game and The Mighty Big Red prevail! (I am sure you want the opposite!)Cmhs74 wrote: I agree with JP that this game is going to be close. Yep...and then when Big Red throws 8 guys in the box to try to stop it...Zordich goes to the air and shows the Big Red that he does in fact have an arm!snyds113 wrote: I think Mooney is going to pound it no matter what.
Zordich gets AT LEAST one TD pass Friday night. -

Karrington Griffin and Clarence Scott didn't play against Poland. Griffin was the main ball carrier last year against Big Red. Heard and Vinopal were dinged up and mainly just played defense.finster4307 wrote: I couldnt find any rushing stats on Karrington Griffin in the Poland game. Did he play? -

I know, but I figured I would stay in spirit of the Steubenville folks that NEVER actually talk any football nor discuss any players on the team.YTOWN wrote:
