Big Red grad Dwight Macon in Big 33

holdingoutHow did Macon play in the Big 33 game in Hershey Saturday?
-
hrspeedmerchantWhere did Macon sign for college?
-
ManO'WarToledo.
Considering he went to the game as an "athlete" and not a qb, I'm not sure how much playing time he got. I saw a pic of him playing defense, and someone posted that he was playing some tailback. -
Al CaponeBelieve me, If he did anything at all in the game there'd be 20 threads on it by now.
-
ManO'WarHe played though. And Big Red has had a handful throughout the years. How many has any other local school had? Let me help you out....zero.
-
ManO'WarHere's a pic...
-
holdingoutDidn't a player from Harrison, Edison or Creek play in this game a few years back? 2002 or 2003 maybe?
-
ManO'WarWho would that be? I don't remember them having any major recruits during that time....or ever really.
-
holdingoutI think his name was Myers or Meyer.
-
ManO'WarHis brother plays for Big Red....and he was an assistant coach for Big Red for a few years. I don't remember him in the Big 33 though...maybe the North/South.
I stand corrected....Caleb Meyer did play in the 2003 Big 33 game....I just looked it up. I don't know how much he played though, since the qb was Ben Mauk and the coach of Ohio that year was Ben Mauk's dad. Knowing his dad he had him throwing the ball every down. None the less, it was a great accomplishment for him to be chosen to play that year. -
snyds113I watched some of the game on the NFL channel.A kid named Meyer and a kid named Reed did the qb thing. As far as i could tell Macon didn't play to much.

Wow! Why do you fell the need to say that? -
ManO'WarBecause people actually have the nerve to get on here and belittle someone that got chosen for one of the top allstar games in the country.
I don't care if he didn't even step on the field, just to get chosen to play is an honor..they only take 33 from the whole state of Ohio. -
CenterBHSFanMoW,
FWIW, I read this thread twice and didn't see anybody belittle Macon.
I can see how it can be easily construed if you're looking for it. But, in black and white, I just don't see it. -

ManO'War, don't look now but your thin skin is showing. You need to take a chill pill. Who on here was taking shots at Macon? Don't come on here and say that Macon was the only one from your area that played in this game. I've been told to the player who played in this game was Calib Meyer from Edison in 2003. And at the time my buudy said his family had no affiliation with the mighty Big Red. -

You don't find that as taking a shot at someone??? Especially considering the source.Al Capone;397225 wrote:Believe me, If he did anything at all in the game there'd be 20 threads on it by now. -

Besides that, Big Red has had 2 players in the past 3 years play in the Big 33...and a few others before that. You can add up all the other schools in the OVAC and they don't have as many.holdingout;398773 wrote:ManO'War, don't look now but your thin skin is showing. You need to take a chill pill. I'm glad you're keeping score. Gives you something to do. -

The shot was dirrected at the over bearing fans. Not the player. IMO
Congats to Macon. -
ferflogSheeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!!!

queencitybuckeyeBTW, for those of us not taking the question as some sort of attack, the answer is he was a non-factor.

snyds113Macon has not been able to be the same player after he got injured with that huge hit he received in the Woodland hills game. That injury put a damper on his career, however short or long it was destined to be.

You should be careful what you say about macon because mano'war may think you are trying to take a shot at him.He is still one heck of an athlete even after the injury but i am sure it may have slowed him down a little.Do you know if he is still going to play football in college and what position? -

MOW doesn't dispute facts.Anyone with a clear mind knows that injury slowed him a bit. That hit would have ended most careers. To answer your question i don't have a clue what he is doing with his future.Isuspect he will still go to Toledo.Hopefully the coaching staff there can make him get back to it.I think he will be alright. If nothing else maybe yhe kid can play a little ball and get an education and be successful in life.homefield;400794 wrote:You should be careful what you say about macon because mano'war may think you are trying to take a shot at him.He is still one heck of an athlete even after the injury but i am sure it may have slowed him down a little.Do you know if he is still going to play football in college and what position?
