First, let me say I am no longer living in the area, so I have no insight on this, only opinions.
I like the idea of playing local teams, but the Falcons will have to schedule big schools that compete if they want a chance at the play-offs. Even with wins over the "big" AAC schools, they will not earn a spot in post season with wins over the smaller schools.
Mooney and Ursuline, though smaller, would provide nice points in the years that you beat them. Back in the day, we competed and won our share against them. Right now, is the program ready to compete with them? Only one way to find out.
Massillon? They fit what I said the Falcons would need. A bigger school that competes. Again, you have to win to get those points.
Gardens, correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Pelini leave for a college opportunity? I don't think he was "let go" by Fitch.
Lastly, Boardman is no bigger than Fitch. Not sure why they were left out if the article from 33 was correct that both applied, but only Fitch was accepted. Seems odd. Also, why add Fitch and then say the other schools don't "have" to play them?
