Carrollton Warriors 2010
-
J-DoverWhat do the Warriors have in store for us this football season? Will things start off as good this year as they did last? Can they finish the season better then they did last year? Your thoughts
-
FairwoodKingI would like to know why Carrollton has never played Steubenville Big Red. The two towns are close geographically, yet we have never played each other to my knowledge.
-
Def LeopardIt doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. The two football programs are miles apart. Not meant to disrespect C-town, but that game would be over early.

Every time we play Wheeling Park and Buffalo St. Joe's, the game is over early. But that doesn't mean that we don't play them. I still think it would be a good matchup.Def Leopard wrote: It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. The two football programs are miles apart. J-DoverI think you need to give Carrollton a little more time before they are ready to bite off something that big. Not saying anything bad about, just to much change latley in the program. Let this coach get his feet wet and start bringing up the youth programs to speed. I do know they have a solid Soph class coming up, and they should get some valuable Varsity time this year. They have good numbers, speed, and size. Game one will tell alot about how the season will pan out for them.
Lets see how they do against Dover before putting them up against Big Red.--Coming from a true Dover fan... -
sonofsamI mean no disrespect to Carrollton fans...
Fairwood, IC is 2-0 against them lifetime, and they barely got by a bus-lagged Cleveland John Hay team that IC buried in the dirt the very next week. They need more time and to be able to beat teams like IC and even Dover as mentioned above before they chew on that bone.
Some teams Carrollton would benefit from:
St. Clairsville
Indian Creek
Martins Ferry
Harrison Central
Notice a pattern here? B8 teams... If Bellaire drops out over the next few years, Carrollton could make a push to get in instead of East Liverpool. -
J-Dover133 days until Kickoff!! Keep stepping it up this year boys!
-
Bud KilmerWeek one won't tell us everything about the Warriors. Week 2 against East Liverpool will.

East Liverpool shouldn't tell you much... They are a team you should be able to handle with ease. They do have a running back that is pretty darn good though.Bud Kilmer wrote: Week one won't tell us everything about the Warriors. Week 2 against East Liverpool will. -

What??? East who? They won all four games last year with combined total of 19 points! Carrollton will handle them with no prob. How can you put EL in the same league as DOVER?!Bud Kilmer wrote: Week one won't tell us everything about the Warriors. Week 2 against East Liverpool will. -

At this point, you can't... Maybe mid to late 90's.J-Dover wrote:

Don't look past EL... 4-6 last year, but setting high goals for this year and the future with Coach Asher...sonofsam wrote:

Looking forward to seeing the QB from Carrollton play. -

I wouldn't expect Carrollton to look past anyone, i just don't feel a lot can be measured by the game against EL. On paper, Carrollton should beat them with ease.The_end_of_overlook wrote:

J-DoverThey should beat them on paper. But only time will tell. I do know the boys have been putting a lot of time in the weight room and working on speed drills. Like EL, they are setting high goals this year and the future with thier new Coach.
Keep working hard Warriors. -

Good for the Warriors. I have a special place in my heart for them because of their name... Just add a "Golden" to itJ-Dover wrote: They should beat them on paper. But only time will tell. J-DoverLift-A-Thon went well. Couple of upcoming Soph's pushed up more then 225 on the bench and squat well more then 400. Agility and speed drills look good too.
Keep up the positive attitudes boys, good things will come. -
LocoEngineer66Our Warriors will be just fine this season. I honestly think we can beat Dover week 1. Then let the mo carry us thru the rest of the season.
-
J-DoverDon't put the cart in front of the horse yet. Dover will be a handful for C-town. I hope the DB's are reading to run and the LB's are ready to hit. Dover should once again be well rounded on the O side. QB will be in his first year of starting, but has an outstanding arm. RB from last year will be returning as a Sr.
None the less should be a great game. And will set the tone for the rest of the year. -
GoPensAnyone know if Carrollton is scrimmaging Salem again this year?

How do the Warriors historically fair in their first game? It could be a surprise for Dover or a bad start for Carrollton... -
LocoEngineer66Just confidence J. But I have that even when they go 0-10.

Usually a mediocre start in early games. But last year they came out strong and only lost a few guys this year so I am looking for a good start. -
J-DoverI understand the confidence piece. I have a lot of that too. I hope they come out strong this year; really hope my boy gets Friday night rush, that his old man still misses. lol

Well good luck to you guys... I would like to have you on Indian Creek's schedule. Would be nice to play you guys instead of Cleveland John Hay. -
J-DoverThat's who Carrollton traded to get Dover game one; John Hay. Hopefully this year starts out like last, win game one.
