R.I.P. Geoff Sindelar

  • BR1986FB
Geoff Sindelar, known as "The Professor" in the Cleveland radio world passed away at age 62. He was very well versed in the world of baseball and was a regular guest on the old Pete Franklin show before he was given his own show.

This is probably more for the Cleveland sports "old timers.'

I sure do remember him as a caller on the old Pete Franklin Show. I remember my dad getting so pissed off at Pete he would shut the radio off.

Sad to hear of Geoff's passing. May he Rest In Peace.

Way too many of Cleveland sports talking heads have passed away too early in life.

Yeah, Nev, Casey, Gib and many, many more.

WKNR had Brinda sitting in for Reghi this afternoon and the whole show was reminiscing over the career of Sindelar.

I caught part of the Reghi/Brenda Show today. It was a nice tribute.

Nev and Casey were very young. There was another Browns announcer that died young I thought. But I could be mistaken.

    lol...well, yeah.

No one will ever top how Sindelar used to get into it with callers.

On the tribute show, they said it was an act. If you knew what you were talking about he'd have a 4-5 minute conversation with the caller, which pissed off management (too much time). If you didn't bring your "A" game he'd rip you to shreds and when the producer would look at him like "what are you doing", Sindelar would just smile and give him a wink as if saying "it's all part of the game."

Yeah, it definitely made for good radio.

It seems that as soon as he left the radio, Cleveland sports talk radio has steadily gone down hill.

He was far and away my favorite. "That's a good item, neighbor." The professor will be sadly missed.
  • BR1986FB
I'd kick Modell in the nuts, butkus51....if I thought he had any.

I don't have a man crush for Hammer but he does get people to call the show even if it is just to bitch about him

Sometimes I only listen to The Really Big Show to hear him try to talk his way out if the messes he creates. Sometimes there is little to no quality sportstalk on that show

Kinda like Triv. All talk, no sports. All Rizzo talks about anymore is Hammer's Cadillac Ranch escapades and the latest Lady Gaga video because of Douchehammer.
  • Mr. 300
Who the heck wants to talk about Cleveland sports teams????? You can only call losers....losers so many times. Triv is fun to listen to now that he's not talking sports all the time.
