GDT: Penguins @ Red Wings
-
End of LineThese two will meet at Joe Louis arena tonight. 7pm on VS. This will be the first time the Penguins have played in Detroit since game 7.
The last time these two played Jimmy Howard(DET) played out of this world but the Pens ended up winning 2-1 in a SO with two incredible goals from Sid and Geno. -
KnightXC1Wings are rolling at the moment after getting 5 of a possible 6 points in western Canada. They look like the team that went to the Finals for two straight years and now that they are back at home, the good play should continue. Just need to get points but a win tonight would be tremendous.
-
thavoiceMalkin is out tonite.
need to get his leg healthy for the playoffs. -
GoPensInteresting little 2 game road trip. Detroit tonight then at Washington. Pens must continue to get points and stay ahead of New Jersey.
-
End of LineI honestly believe that the Pens will either lose big or win by 1.
-
Laley23Big game for the Wings to continue the good play. They have been clutch the last 2 nights (the goal with .3 to tie it, and then with .3 to win in OT). They are being repaid by the Gods for all the injuries
Just need to play solid enough to make the playoffs. Anything can happen at that point. If they cant get to 6th, Id rather be 8th and play San Jose than 7th and play Chicago. -
rock_knutne2-1 Detroit with the third period about to start. Typical display by the Red Wings, they run interference at every chance they get.
-
wildcats20Wings score, 3-1. 18:40 left

Yep, but until they start getting called for it (although Holmstrems was a little weak) would you stop?rock_knutne wrote: 2-1 Detroit with the third period about to start. Typical display by the Red Wings, they run interference at every chance they get. -

That's the problem, they never get called for it and a lot of it is blatant. 6 to 3 power plays in favor of the Wings, yet Crosby is the one who's labeled a diver.:rolleyes:Laley23 wrote:

It doesn't matter, Pittsburgh has things secured and they're playing like it, which they had better snap out of. I would like to think they can go in to another gear but that's easier said than done. Malkin is hurt, they haven't found chemistry yet with Ponikarovsky, Kennedy needs to go back to the third line where he belongs and Talbot hasn't found it yet either. No desperation what so ever to secure the Atlantic division and avoid playing both NJ and Washington in the playoffs. -
KnightXC1For all this so called interference they run, they are one of the least penalized teams in the league. If enough people were complaining about it, the league would make sure they get called for these calls but they don't because it is not interference. Stop crying for all these phantom calls because your coaches and captain complain about it. All of the penalties tonight, minus the one on Holmstrom which was debatable (I don't have a problem either way) were justified. You have whined about these for 2 years now and obviously still don't understand the rule.
Maybe you should worry more about your team not looking great at all down the stretch and your captain taking cheap shots at the end of the game when the other guys back was turned. -
Strapping Young Lad^^^Psssst. Rockne is a jealous hater........

Don't understand the rule, maybe it's you who doesn't understand? Detroit blantantly interfers at all costs and now they have even started to dive, it's how they play and they ONLY way they can beat a faster team like Pittsburgh. As for the penalties.........you'd better take those red glasses off pal! Two calls against Gonchar where garbage and the interference call against Guerin was a travisty.KnightXC1 wrote: For all this so called interference they run, they are one of the least penalized teams in the league. Why are you in this conversation? You have nothing to add to this discussion, these are a pair of Stanley Cup winning teams, something a Buffalo fan has no clue about.Strapping Young Lad wrote: ^^^Psssst. Rockne is a jealous hater........ -
Swamp FoxNice win for the Wings.
-
KnightXC1I again state, if it is so "blatant" why are they one of the least penalized teams in the league? Please provide an answer to that before whining anymore. You complain about as much as your captain does, who also gives no credit to any team that beats him, as an example from last night as well.

Because it's Detroit and "Hockeytown" and they're good at getting away with it. -
End of LineThank god I went to work and didn't watch this.

Man you are pathetic. Now it's because in your mind the NHL favors them and won't call penalties against them because the Wings can secretly disguise penalties. Here is the fact from last night, the Pens had plenty of chances and Howard played great to stop them. I could kindly put up the video of Crosby taking cheap shots at Zetterberg at the end of the game if you would like to show you a player getting away with things. Your "captain" even said after the game they had plenty of chances and then took some bad penalties that hurt their momentum. Take off your blinders for once and go read up on the rules before spitting out all this nonsense.rock_knutne wrote:

LOL.....read a rule book? Maybe you need a refresher course on the rules? What's pathetic is you yourself think the league gives Crosby preferential treatment but can't fathom that idea being applied to Detroit and their blatant interfering style of play! BTW, nice job at taking Sid's comment out of context, he also wasn't happy about some of the calls and NO CALLS made against the Pens last night!KnightXC1 wrote:

KnightXC1Where exactly did I say Crosby gets preferential treatment? He is right in the middle of the league in PIM with guys like Iginla and Kovalchuck. If you think cross checking someone multiple times in the back is ok then maybe you should read up on some rules. I didn't take his comments out of context either and I can post the interview if you would like so you can see and hear him say "We did a good job then TOOK a couple penalties". Notice he didn't say "we got called for penalties" but "took" them. Pretty sure I understand the context of that comment.
And again, find proof that Detroit interferes so much and where it doesn't get called. I don't have to keep telling you that if it was such a big deal and they cheated so much according to you, they wouldn't be 29th in the league in total penalty minutes. Pittsburgh has the 8th most PIM in the league btw so clearly they aren't getting any preferential treatment as the reigning champs. Get over yourself, take your blinders off, and get over it. -
rock_knutne^^^^^Watch a replay of last nights game, that's all the proof you need! Even "Edzo" made reference to it. BTW, don't play coy with me, you have made numerous statements in regards to how Crosby gets preferential tretament over the years, so you actually need to get over yourself in the worst way!
-
KnightXC1^^^ He also made reference to Crosby taking cheap shots at Zetterberg so our point is moot. I don't have to get over myself because I am very fair in how I see it. Crosby gets called for he deserves and the Wings get called for what they deserve. Do refs miss calls? Sure they do but to say the Wngs cheat constantly and don't get called for it is absurd. And again you have no counter since the numbers don't lie that the Wings are the second least penalized team in the league. Continue to believe what you want but the numbers don't lie.
Good luck to the Pens in the playoffs because nothing would please me more than have the rubber match for the Stanley Cup. -

Be careful what you wish for! -
End of LineI don't want to see us play Detroit in the SCF again...........
