Cav-Celtic Game 7 on the NBA Channel Right Now
-
FootwedgeAnother heart breaker for the Cavs. I can remember a fierce rally back by the Cavs, only to see DeLonte West miss a wide open 3 to tie the game inside of a minute.
Interestingly enough, the only difference between that year's championship Celtic team and this year's struggling Celtic team, was/is Leon Powe and James Posey. -

And 2 years. -
wes_mantoothI know he wasn't a fixture, but I thought Eddie House hit some pretty big shots for them from time to time.
Also, Rasheed Wallace was a bad signing. I was pissed when I heard the Cavs were looking into signing him.....thank god they didn't. -
hoops23The Celtics made a mistake when they let James Posey go.. He was kind of liek a "glue guy" for them..
Likewise with Leon Powe.
The Cavs struck gold with this guy.. He's getting better and better as the season goes on. -

I'm talking about their major minute players. And it was only 2 weeks ago that House was unloaded. I'll give you the 2 years though, Larry....very astute on your part.HighRoller74 wrote:

Gotcha.
The 2 years is really what did them in. It wouldn't have matter who they lost, or kept, if the core could've been as good/healthy as they were then. -

Exactamundo. Leon Powe was a fricking beast for the Celts that year. He did a number on the Laker bigs as well in the finals.LTrain23 wrote: The Celtics made a mistake when they let James Posey go.. He was kind of liek a "glue guy" for them..

SQ_CraziesThe Cavs should have won that series. No offense to Paul Pierce, I think he's a damn good player, but he had a MIRACLE game to help them hold off LeBron putting up one of the best performances in the playoffs ever. It was a great battle, one of the best 1 on 1 kind of games I've ever seen. But 9 times out of 10, Pierce can't match LeBron like that.
Blessing in disguise though, that was the game that forced LeBron James to focus on becoming a defensive force. He'll do whatever he can to never let a guy go off like that again in that situation.
Something that is vastly overlooked--the real killer in that game was PJ Brown. I believe he scored 10 points and shot 100% or something and scored some clutch baskets for them. The C's got lucky in that one, but luck plays a role in every championship teams run somewhere along the line.
