Interesting comments on who is the best NBA prospect

  • september63
LeBron James raves over John Wall. Kobe Bryant says he doesnt see anyone any better than Evan Turner. The story also cites LBJ's closeness with John Wall though, and LBJ's intentions of recruiting Wall to LBJ's own agen Leon Rose. Does LBJ's minnd ever stop thinking about the bottom $$$? Im with Kobe on this one.

Bron is VERY, VERY close with Coach Cal and the UK team this year. No doubt he would say Wall.

IMO, you can't go wrong with either player.

    I'd take Turner over Wall

I agree. It just seems LBJ's mind is always about the business end. Remember, he was famously quoted early in his career saying..........He wanted to eventually be more wealthy than Warren Buffet. Lets win an NBA championship or two before finalizing his $$$ Empire.
  • Al Capone
Sure LBJ is recruiting John Wall. He needs a running mate in NewYork when he bolts Cleveland.

    On a side note...

John Wall IS the better pro prospect, even if it is due solely to his position.

EDIT: I'm gonna go ahead and explain myself now because I know I'll take a ton of heat. I think there's too many players in the NBA that are better handlers than Turner for him to play a true point on any team. That puts him at a 2/3, and there's just WAY too many great players at those positions in the league for him to stand out. As far as point guards go though, I think John Wall will be the number one option at that position for his team right off the bat. Right now, it's easier in my mind for a point guard to come in and help his team than a 2 or a 3.

    Evan Turner was horrible tonight.

Lebron is also close to the OSU program, as he sponsors them as well.

Also, I think Wall is the better PROSPECT, but I actually think Turner will be the better pro.

He's big, he does EVERYTHING and he seems to have his head on right.

John Wall worries me. This is a guy who got in trouble just before his freshman season and he's had run ins with Coach Cal. He also seems like he could be a high ego guy in the NBA.

You must not be aware of how the NBA works.

    1) Draft lottery

    2) Bird Rights

    3) Mike (no)D'Antoni

Ironically, after the Cavs thrashed the Knicks during their last meeting, LeBron said he's "Never played for a team that didn't emphasize defense and couldn't see himself doing so, because defense wins championships."

I've seen enough of your stuff to know that you just come in and trash any Cleveland thread you can, which is a tiring act, but whatever gets you off.

    It's called having an opinion.

You may not agree with it, but he is entitled to state his view.

Absolutely correct....BUT....LTrain is right, Capone is plainly and simply a Cleveland basher, but then again, what do most bandwagon jumpers do.

My favorites are the ones who live in Ohio and cheer for the Steelers, but then also cheer for the Buckeyes, why not the Pitt Panthers?

I really like Turner's game, but I am a little skeptical of how him game will translate to the NBA. He puts up the stats he does because he dominates the ball. It will be interesting to see how he adapts to playing off the ball. I think he'll have a very good NBA career, but I don't know if he will ever reach that "elite" status.

As for Wall, I think he will be one of the top PG's in the NBA in a few years. I think his potential is unlimited and his game is made for the NBA with the up and down and isolations.

On a side note, I think Demarcus Cousins becomes an "elite" player in the NBA as well.

I think John Wall has the better NBA game between him and Turner.

Turner looked horrible last night. One thing I noticed about Turner is he used the same move in the 2nd half every time he was bringing the ball up court. He would dribble to one side of the court, dribble behind his back towards the middle and spin move back to the same side.

I love Turner's game, but am not sure how it translates to the pros. I think that Wall is the better prospect.
  • Automatik
Wall definitely. I'm a huge Turner fan, but I think Wall could make an immediate impact in the NBA....not so sure about Turner.
  • krazie45
Turner is more versatile than Wall. Wall can do certain things better than Turner, but Turner can do a lot of things that Wall can't do.
  • Hb31187
Wall can be an impact player from the get go....Turner im not sure how he'll play when hes not dominating the ball like he does now. He'll obviously have to play off ball in the NBA

John Wall is the better PROFESSIONAL prospect, no doubt.

It's almost sad for me to see SO many people changing their minds as the season went on. The season has put Turner over Wall for the argument of POY--no doubt about that. But I can't understand how so many people changed their minds so easily when their basis for putting Wall over Turner early on was based on things we still know. He's more athletic, he's got an NBA ready body for a PG, just physically he is more ready to go in the NBA. That goes a long way. Guys develop much faster in thee league when their body is ready from day 1.

Wall has a superstar ceiling because of his athleticism, Turner, at best IMO, could be a really good role player for someone. No doubt about Wall being the better NBA prospect though.

I couldn't agree with this more. I just don't know where Turner fits into the NBA. He's not a PG, and I don't know if he shoots well enough to play the 2, and he's not really big enough to play the 3. Just the typical tweener who will find a way to get on the court, but I think he'll be very inconsistent in the NBA.
  • SQ_Crazies
His strength in the NBA will be defense, and if he works at it, that could keep him in the league a long time. A Battier type of player. So like I said, a good role player. He's talented, I just don't see him being a stud in the NBA.
  • Mulva
I don't think Turner will be a perennial all-star, but I think he'll definitely be more than a role player. I could see him being a lesser Brandon Roy, or similar to an Andre Iguodala (averaging 17, 7 and 6 this year), although they have somewhat different skill sets.
  • Thunder70
Turner's game reminds me a lot of Brandon Roy's.

Remember Turner has been playing point all of one year. With time comes experience. He's only gonna get better.

As far as who is better..who cares. They're both probably gonna be good.
  • j_crazy
Wall reminds me of Sebastian Telfair, great baller, but struggles running sets. Lucky for him he won't have to play without the ball too much in the pros because thats where i think his weakness is.
  • Hb31187
Difference between Telfair and wall is that Telfair isnt 6'4 and an explosive athlete like Wall is. I think Wall will be Derek Rose version 2.0
