Let's see here, if "Big Red" won the next 33 games against Massillon, YES....I said 33, the series would be tied.

And as far as being a bandwagon jumper, I can spot em from miles away, and you my friend, are a bandwagon jumper.

8??? Come on, man. You're better than that. Are you seriously counting 4 AAFC titles? It was an 8 team league and it is NOT recognized as the same as winning an NFL/AFL Championship. That's really reaching just to try and make your team look better. It's 6-4 in favor of Pittsburgh. How decent Cleveland fans can actually claim 4 AAFC titles as the equivalent of NFL/AFL titles is beyond me.

Also, I wouldn't refer to what you were talking about earlier as "selective memory." It's more like "living in the now."

The fact is it took Pittsburgh 39 years in the league to win a play-off game. 1933-1972

You're not seriously trying to discount the blatant ineptitude of a franchise that lasted nearly a generation?

Yes, they sucked......decades ago. It happened and nobody is ignoring that fact. The fact of the matter is though......the last 40 years have been GREAT. Should I ask some of you if you're trying to discount the overwhelming success of a franchise that has lasted approximately the same amount of time as their blatant ineptitude? Furthermore, I think we're still currently in Pittsburgh's successful run.

The funny thing is....if I was pulling the shit that some of you are pulling on here over on the college football board and throwing Notre Dame's old success and/or Ohio State's previous "struggles" in some of your faces.....I'd get laughed off the fuckin' thread. But now it must be "different."

You're the first to recognize it, and to your credit I'm not surprised.

    ND had success? GTFO!!!

    ;)

You're right. I should've said that we're not all ignoring that fact. My bad.

A championship is a championship. We could also discount Super Bowl titles that were won in 14 game seasons with shorter playoffs but I wouldn't do that.

Potato....potato....you say "living in the now" which I can buy because most Steeler "fans" (not yourself) know nothing about their history and have been "fans" since 2005.
  • killer_ewok
We can agree to disagree. I don't think AAFC titles should be included in the argument as the NFL does not recognize their championships. I can honestly say if the shoe was on the other foot.....I would not include them as championships for the Steelers.

But the pissing matches seem to come down to ONE poster. I don't get on Steelers threads to start shit, although I did start the Roethlisberger thread. Get rid of that poster, problem SOLVED.

Those who know me from JJ's tend to know me to be pretty level headed but if a jackass (not you, LJ) wants to step up and start stupidity I'll cut off their fucking nuts and verbally feed them to them. We ALL know WHO that instigator/poster is.

Don't feel too bad........if you ever check out Steelers (or even Penguins threads) threads.....I think you'll find that there is another poster who is similar to Capone but is anti-Steelers and his name is Strapping Young Lad.

I don't like when anybody does it, whether they're a fan of my team or not.

BR is definitely a quality poster who is almost always reasonable and logical. Every now and again he stoops to someone's level (I do that too at times). Things can get a little frustrating and it happens to the best of us.

There is a difference between arguing and being a troll.

    Ewok is a quality poster too...even if he's a Yinzer fan. ;)

So according to BR, people can get on here in rag Pittsburgh all the time. But when a Pittsburgh fan says anything to nullify their claims, they should be banned. Typical Browns fan, a whiny little bitch.
