Clint Dempsey with an amazing goal vs Juventus

AutomatikA friend just sent me this link. Fulham advanced in the Europa League against Juventus 5-4 on aggregate.

What an insane lob!!
Its crazy to see Fulham actually doing well. I saw a few of their matches while studying abroad in London when they were one of the bottom feeders of the EPL. -
Glory Days"he takes account of everything in the universe into consideration" haha
-
AutomatikI chuckled at that too. "He doesn't have to look because he knows the goal post isn't moving."
-
Ender WigginGolazo just doesnt sound right coming from an American. No heart, not joy, nothing.

That goal was ridiculous. Hopefully he can do similar things for Team USA in June. -
AutomatikI've watched that at least 20 times today. I've seen a lot of cool lobs in my day but never from that angle and into the opposite corner like that. Truly amazing.

This is my favorite Ray Hudson call. I wish it didnt cut off cause he ends it with "Lionel Messi....make you smile at a funeral on Christmas."Glory Days wrote: "he takes account of everything in the universe into consideration" haha
But it is still fantastic announcing.
-
AutomatikHahaha I've heard that one before.
"He's a MESSIAH!" Where does he come up with this stuff?! -

No clue. I watched another one last night.Automatik wrote: Hahaha I've heard that one before.

"uhhh! Brilliant! Messi with sheer genius. Moves that would make Barbara Walters cry!"
What the fuck does that even mean?!? -
Ender Wiggin
My favorite, you hear the fans getting excited then boom! -

Well, Im not even close to the only one. Virtually every soccer analyst has it as #1. If it was in the WC (like the Maradona one) it would be arguably the greatest ever.DeyDurkie5 wrote:definately top 10, but in no way number 1...take your messi goggles off

Laley23^^^those are great goals. But part of it is luck. I mean you have to have tremendous skill to hit a ball like that, but I have scored on a volley to the upper 90 from about 30 yards out. It was sheer luck other than the fact I hit the ball solidly enough for it to be on target.
Im much more impressed with the Messi goal, the Henry goal from a few years ago on Arsenal. Kaka when he dribbles, etc. It takes a lot more skill and pace to be able to beat so many first flight defenders and put it into the goal at the end. Messi's goal for me is so tough because he receives the ball and has no space to operate but still beats and then outruns 2 defenders. At full speed beats 2 more and then jukes the goalie and chips a sliding defender for a goal with his weak foot.
Henrys from Arsenal is the closest I remember to it in terms of beating people around the box. But Messi had a much more impressive run and pace to it.
