Cavs clinch Central Division Title!!

  • september63
I know. It means nothing. Doing it on March 17 does seem impressive. Lets hope it continues.

It's pretty amazing at how bad the division is. Can't believe the Bucks are in second place.

Well that means we are guaranteed a 4th seed or higher...so there is some good news to that.

Here's how important the divisions standings apparently are to the media -- the Columbus Dispatch doesn't even list them, anymore. They simply show the conference standings.

I'll get it out of the way.

Footwedge: This Cleveland team sucks and its not as good as last years team which clinched the Division on March 13th.

let it die already...he hasn't been complaining about Jamison as much these days...we all know he was idiot who reacted too quickly to the 3 game losing streak...now he won't ever admit it, but he knows it was a good trade. No sense on keep bringing it up anymore

+1....wake me up when they REALLY do something like win a CHAMPIONSHIP. Anything less, with this lineup, is a major disappointment.

Yeah, division titles doesn't mean a whole lot other than seeding in a league where 10 of the 16 playoff sports go to wild card teams. Though, when it's only the 3rd time in history you've won one it's a nice thing to have and hang a banner for. I'd rather win it than not win it.

Wake up people, this is still Cleveland! Enjoy EVERYTHING that the Cavs do, because after the LEBron era (no matter how long it lasts) the Cavs may fall back down to earth a little bit.

I enjoyed the Indians run of the 90's, and admit, that I started to take it for granted as well, however, I now long for those days.. I'd be VERY happy with division titles from the Indians or Browns for a change.

Of course the big picture is a championship, and the Cavs are treating it as such as there wasn't even an announcement at the Q that the Cavs just clinched..

However, as NOL fan said, when it's only the 3rd division title in the 40 year history, it's worth a mention.

    I agree about Footwedge.....

I do think that this team is better than last year...but I still don't think they can beat Orlando or LA

The way Cavs fans go about dismissing their 3rd Central title in division history is rather amusing.

Not really. As a Cleveland fan we are waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm not saying winning their division isn't nice but if they don't win the title this year, they underachieved. This (division title) was expected. The shocker would have been if they had NOT won it.
  • Sage
I don't see how a team, who has 1 guy on it who has won a ring, can "underachieve" by not winning a ring.
  • sleeper
    Shaq and Powe have rings.
  • Sage
I forgot about Mr. Powe. The only member of the Celtics organization that I had respect for.

Cleveland still has a professional Basketball team?
