golf4life2008Wow... conference is about locked up with the Cavs remaining schedule. The only tough games I see left are:
3/24 @ New Orleans
3/26 @ San Antonio
4/2 Atlanta
4/4 @ Boston
4/6 Toronto
4/11 Orlando
4/14 @ Atlanta
Out of those 7 games, I see maybe 1 or 2 losses maybe to Boston and Orlando. The Cavs are deep and should be able to beat the rest of the teams and win the League! Let's go Cavs!! -
NateIMO I think they'd lose one to Atlanta before we lose to Boston.

mtrulzNets' magic number is 3.

Cleveland BuckThe magic number to win the conference is 4. They don't own the tiebreaker over the Magic.

So if the Cavs lose to the Magic, is it a given that Orlando wins the tie breaker? Or is that an issue too soon to predict?Cleveland Buck wrote: The magic number to win the conference is 4. They don't own the tiebreaker over the Magic.
I don't think this will come into play, but just asking out of curiosity. -
Cleveland Buck
If the Cavs lose to their last game to the Magic, the next tiebreaker would be conference record. The Cavs are 35-9 vs. the East, the Magic are 34-13. The Cavs would probably have it, but it isn't clinched yet.Footwedge wrote:

devil1197Cleveland will have to collapse to lose the #1 seed in the EC.

SonofanumpWith 8 games left up by 6 & 3.5.

hoops23The East is clinched. It's just not official.
the only thing that isn't clinched is home court throughout.. Which is pretty close as well. -

Thanks for sharing. If the unthinkable were to happen, and the Magic were to beat us next month and tie us for the best record, it stands to reason that they would probably win the conference tie breaker. In other words, the Cavs would have to lose a boatload of conference games, whereby the Magic would have to virtually win them all.Cleveland Buck wrote:

We all know....isn't gonna happen. -
hoops23The Magic lost Vince Carter today in the first quarter with an apparent foot injury, he didn't return and I don't know how serious it was.
-
SageJJ Reddick then got in the ass of the Denver Nuggets.
It was hilarious. -
