How many games over a season would this Cavs team win?

You bit square. Let me ask you...what's your take on plus/minus stats?

This year......per 48 minutes...when Shaq is on the floor...the Cavs are a meager plus 3.5.

When Shaq is off the floor, the Cavs are a plus 10. Now what again were you saying?

If you need a link?...then ask me nicely...and I'll supply it.

    +/- is a hockey stat.

With Brownie as the coach, this team would still win 45-48 games.

Just a side note...the Cavs are 10-12 without the king playing since he came here. And this team is pretty deep now.
Um...the Spurs are not hot. 6-4 over their last 10...

And without LeBron, there is no Mike Brown as coach.
They had won 4 straight and 7 out of their last 10. No need to lie like that.

What? I guess you don't look at NBA box scores do you?

I know what the hell +/- is. And it's a worthless stat IMO.

And the Spurs are 6-4 in their last 10. That is not a hot team, you can think whatever you want about them but they are a very average team. Who, I might add, was playing without their PG.

I already knew the plus minus stat. Doesn't change my opinion at all.
  • Lovejoy1984
Gotta love when Wedge pulls out the one stat that will prove his opinion, no matter how miniscule it may, or may not be.

The next stat I'm expecting him to see thrown out to support one of his arguments is that Player X is better than player Y because his Jumpball percentage is better.
  • SQ_Crazies
Plus/minus isn't totally irrelevant but it doesn't tell the whole story.
  • SQ_Crazies
Not to mention, it's still plus when he's on the floor--so clearly he adds something to the team even based on that stat, which was the original question. Fail again Wedgie. Funny you were trying to get ME to bite lol.

"10: The Cavaliers are outscoring teams by 10.0 points per 48 minutes when Shaquille O'Neal is off the floor this season … and by 3.7 points per 48 minutes when Shaq is on the floor".

Cleveland cannot beat Orlando or LAL without Shaq.

That is how important he is, fuck the +/- shit against the other teams.

High Roller...the Spurs were 7 and 3 in their last 10 before the Cavs, without LeBron, beat them. Why do you lie like that?
  • wildcats20
I'm lying? I'm stating the truth. And look at who they beat and who beat them....NOT IMPRESSIVE.

OK, so the Cavs(minus their best player) beat the (average) Spurs(minus arguably their best player).....that says nothing other than the Cavs would be an average team without LeBron...which we all knew to begin with.

I went looking for where you might have got that stat from and finally found the rest of it.

    http://www.82games.com/0910/0910CLE.HTM

    Shaq at -6.3

    Hickson at -7.3

    Mo -4.1

    Delonte -0.9

I said 32-39. There is no way in hell this is a 45 win team without Z, LeBron, or Shaq.

    42-40 with that lineup.
  • hoops23
This team plays defense and has capable scorers w/o LeBron..

They would definitely win around 43-45 games.

This team outside of LeBron, isn't as bad as some claim.
  • sportswizuhrd
One other variable to this hypothetical...Who replaces them on the roster? The available money needs to go somewhere(unless everyone's combine raises=Shaq and LeBron's contract for this year).
  • hoops23
Another factor to look at is, was LeBron injured or just not on the Cavs to begin with?? If he wasn't on the Cavs to begin with, then this roster would completely different anyway.

I too think they would be a playoff team minus Lebron in the East. They play defense and have good enough guard play. They'd probably lose a lot of close games because of the lack of a go to scorer late but I do believe they'd be competitive.
  • SQ_Crazies
Guard play has been less than stellar as of late. Backcourt defense is pretty awful actually.
  • dave
35 wins, no chance they get to .500

Just because they beat the Spurs without Parker doesn't mean they would do well. There are very few teams the Cavs athleticism would carry them to a win against like it did with the old Spurs.
