Dirtiest Team in the NBA
-
sleeperThe LA Lakers.
-
skankYep, the Lakers are the new Pistons, the Lakers though act like it was an accident when they cheap shot you, the Pistons let you know it wasn't an accident.
-
sleeperI can't even watch the Lakers play without being disgusted at their lack of class and their incessant whining and cheap shots. They are like the bullies at a pickup game, calling touch fouls on the other team, and then absolutely hammering you every play, and when you call it they argue it for an hour.
Fisher is still the worst on the team, but Kobe and Gasol are quickly moving to the top of that list.

Hb31187Celtics are up there...
-
yobro08the lakers r ridiculous
-
ZombieKillerI only saw the highlights of the Lakers/Magic game. But from what I saw, the Lakers are a dirty team.
-
3reppomIt's the Celtics. The Lakers aren't dirty as much as they are petulant children. You know a team has attitude problems when Ron Fucking Artest goes for semi lengthy periods of time being the best behaved person on the court. The Celtics have a trio of dirty players surpassing any other team in the NBA with Kendrick Perkins, Paul Pierce and KG. Perkins is a great post defender but he frequently steps over the line in the process. Pierce and KG can't really help it any more. They are shadows of their former great selves. They don't posses anything close to the athletic ability they had just a few years ago so they resort to the old tricks that older players use to extend their playing days. most of those said tricks fall outside the realm of what is strictly allowed.

SageI fail to see how the Lakers are dirty?
I mean, Kobe Bryant and Ron Artest play hard, but DIRTY? -
Lovejoy1984
After todays game I can see how someone would say Kobe plays(ed) dirty.Sage wrote: I fail to see how the Lakers are dirty?

I've never really thought as Ron is dirty though, he plays you tough, and for the most part I don't think Kobe is dirty either. But Kobe is starting to get a rep for these little incidents.
Raja Bell, Matt Barnes, Artest last year, Doug Christie, Mike Miller, etc. It's starting to look like a trend, now all of those guys are pretty average players so maybe it's just the young guys trying to get at Kobe and he just gives it back to them, but all I know is that it's not the first time this has happened -

Derek F. is known for dirty plays and I expect Gasol to be receiving a flagrant foul after the NBA reviews his blatant swing at Howard on his dunk.Sage wrote: I fail to see how the Lakers are dirty?

He received a flagrant 1 for the foul in the game. Nothing else will come of it.devil1197 wrote:

SageDerek Fisher, the head of the Players Union, isn't known as a dirty player. In fact, he's one of the most well liked and respected players in the league.
Granted, he damn near cracked Louis Scolas' sternum last spring, but I don't consider that dirty. Same with Gasol's flagrant (it was called flagrant). Same with Kevin McHale's clothesline of Kurt Rambis. Simply hard basketball being played out in the open.
When I think "dirty" I think of plays like Big Baby Davis intentionally attacking the injured thumb of Shaq. Just dirty shit like that, done with intent to inflict harm, and done by people who don't have the heart to do it in the open. -

You don't think that was dirty? What do you think Fisher's intent was on that play? Just to fight through a pick?Sage wrote: Derek Fisher, the head of the Players Union, isn't known as a dirty player. In fact, he's one of the most well liked and respected players in the league.

SageSend a message.
Remember, Scola had just gotten into it with Lamar Odom and Luke Walton and was doing his typical posturing (same shit that Matt Barnes was doing today).
Lakers had a reputation as being soft and I'm sure Scola didn't expect retribution. I mean, at the end of the day, it's a 5'11" dude hitting a 6'9" POWER FORWARD to the ground. Not like he was in serious danger or could've caused major injury.
It's a message sent in open daylight. -
Sage
No idea why the imbed isn't working. -
wildcats20Best part of that video was Joey Crawford shoving Scola half way down the court lol
-
sleeper
It's probably the dirtiest cheap shot I've ever seen, regardless if Scola was acting like a CLOWN. The best part about that video was the commentator praising Fisher through the whole thing, what a jackass.Sage wrote:

SageHow was it dirty? It's just a hard shot to let a guy named "Luis" that this shit ain't going to fly with the Lakers.
Notice how his teammates didn't come to his aid? And that the Rockets promptly crumpled after that?
#Exposed
Just like the Lakers got exposed when Rambis got clotheslined. -
3reppomIt was dirty because Fisher looked over his shoulder, saw that Scola was approaching to set a screen, kept his eyes on him, dropped his hips and exploded up with his shoulder through Scola's chest. Being tough and fighting through a screen is completely legal, body checking the screener before he even gets set is dirty.
-
se-alumWhat Fisher did to Scola is the definition of dirty play. Kobe's elbow to Barnes today after the follow-up dunk was definitely dirty as well.
-
SageYou guys would enjoy the WNBA then.

I lol'd, even though you're wrong.Sage wrote: You guys would enjoy the WNBA then. -
detectivegibblesI hope Odom gets dropped like Scola did in the playoffs this year by someone. Just so we can watch Sage complain about dirty it was.
Take off the blinders dude. He took two steps and exploded with his shoulder into his chest. You have a man crush on the announcer. -
detectivegibblesAnd let me guess,
Kobe was just trying to box out Artest too right? -
SageSo a point guard checking a power forward is dirty? Scola was looking right at him. Not dirty in the least. Hard nosed basketball. Scola wasn't seriously injured. He got put on his ass with a hard basketball play that woulda been a 2 shots in the 80s.
Dirty is what Big Baby did to Shaq. Or Dhantay Jones' special of pushing people in the back when they're driving to the hoop. Or even Bruce Bowen's pattented move of repeatedly stepping underneath jumpshooters.
Derek Fisher handled business and the Rockets crumpled. 5'11 Fisher was right there They coulda came and saw him if they saw it as a dirty play (and nobody did).
Artest and Kobe were banging. Simple as that. Cmon Sleeper. You've played on Lane. You know how it is.
