LeBron James (Out) vs Milwaukee

Damn didnt realize he was 48% from 3. I take that back.

But if i had my choice of people to shoot a 3 Gibson just isnt the name that pops into my head, guess thats why i found it absurd for him to be mentioned. I stand corrected

He just doesn't get the attempts to be recognizable as much.

    fixed... haha

I know it's hard with all this depth, but Boobie has improved his defense and his shot is usually money. You can cut AP's minutes down and find a little time with Boobie by paring him with Mo or Delonte.
  • SQ_Crazies
Yeah, he needs more playing time to get the recognition.

Problem is the team really needs Mo to get going, hard to sit Parker too long because his size and defense is needed against bigger guards, Delonte has to be on the floor. Boobie gets the short end of the stick--but if Mo doesn't get going soon, you'll see more of Boobie I think. He's earned it, he's shot the lights out this year.

But don't worry, Boobie will be nice to have in the postseason--as he has been the last few years. He'll get minutes then, which really says a lot about what kind of player he is.
  • SQ_Crazies
His defense doesn't help him out either--he's not a bad defender by any teams, underrated really because most thing he's a liability but he gets abused by big, physical PG's. That hurts him too. He's really a pretty good defender, just doesn't have the size and strength to play against guys like Billups. I mean neither does Mo, but Mo is a lot more well rounded offensively.

mo was horrible last night. i was wondering why he was still in the game. some nights you just dont have it.

Wayyyyy off subject, but I had to share this with some of the other WKNR listeners on here........

I needed to run to the store this morning, so I hopped in my car and was listening to a little early morning sports talk. Naturally, "The Bostonian" called in and stated this wild theory...

"The Cavs are a completely different team without Lebron James". hahaha.....god, I love that guy.

That fucker is still alive? I remember him calling Roda all the time. He sounded like he was 100 years old.
  • wes_mantooth
Oh yeah, still alive and retarded as ever...lol

He then stated that the Celtics are the same team without "Gawnett". And the Lakers "awe" just as good without Kobe......The Cavs bench isn't very good.

I really wish Boobie would get the minutes instead of Moon/Parker. I understand why he isn't getting the minutes, he's undersized and that kills him on the defensive end, but he's a deadly shooter that works well with Lebron and is a decent ball handler.

Any word if Sebastian Telfair is going to get booted off this team? He's never going to play.
  • devil1197
Parker is shooting 45% from deep which is very good and he is taller than Gibson to match up with the bigger guards. He won't get minutes taken away.

West is one of our only guards that can continually attack the basket and back down defenders. He has played great lately and is a tough defender despite his size. He also won't get minutes taken away.

Williams has been playing like fucking shit but he has hit clutch shots. Both guys aren't very good at defense but in the end Williams is a better ball handler than Gibson which is the reason why he plays so much. He could get some minutes reduced (around 5-6 from 35 to 30 or so).

The other player to get reduced minutes is Moon but he is very athletic and will be called upon imo in the playoffs to match up on scorers defensively.

In the end the other guys offer more overall than just great shooting. Gibson will have a couple games in the postseason where he just goes off, thats his MO. But he is focusing on his family right now that has gone through a lot recently with the birth.

Yes Gibson should play a lot more. He is not a defensive liability anymore. He sticks his nose in, steals the ball some, and creates problems for the opponents defense.

He's the best spot up 3baller in the entire league. Brownie needs to get him the minutes.

Cavs probably beat the Bucks last night had he played 15/18 minutes or so.
  • devil1197
Gibson needs to be ready to play to get minutes, he still is looking after his family.

Come on Square. Obviously others need to sit more....duhhhhh. Parker needs to sit more and when Mo is that cold, he needs to sit more. And even though PoonTawn played above his head last night, he definitely needs to sit more.

This is not a big attack on Parker. He rarely takes a bad shot and is not bad as a j shooter....but we are talking about the best 3baller in the NBA.

Everyone I know IRL have conceded that Gibson's d is no longer a liability. He was as steady as a rock when Mo/DeLonte were out...and the Cavs rattled off pretty much 10 straight blowouts.
  • Cleveland Buck
Boobie is a much better defender than people give him credit for. He really only struggles against bigger PGs who can back him down, but how many of those are out there? He is a much better defender than Mo. And Boobie is clutch. In the playoffs I would rather see Gibson out there catching and shooting off of a LeBron drive than Mo Williams. He needs to be playing. Take 12-14 minutes a game or so from Mo and Parker and play Gibson those minutes.

Just as you don't touch the Shaqtus, never question the Fooqtas.

heh..i heard the same thing before mo was hurt and the cavs went on a thirteen game win streak with gibson.

I know he is concentrated on his family at the moment, but when he comes back he needs to be playing. i dont care who is losing minutes.

Really? So when Brown trusted him to guard Billups last week late in the 4th quarter over Moon, Boobie wasn't a defensive liability...right?
  • devil1197
Parker shoots 45% from deep and is 6'6.

There isn't a huge drop off from 48% to 45% considering what Parker gives to Cleveland defense wise. Gibson may have a better % but overall per games played Parker makes more 3 balls per contest.

The only player Gibson should be taking minutes from right now is Mo, but that is simply because Mo is still in his slump after the shoulder injury. Mo is our starting PG and when he plays well Cleveland is almost unbeatable. Gibson is no better or no worse than Williams defensively. Their both undersized PG's that are not great defensively, but Williams has better handling and court vision. If Williams doesn't recover, then yes Gibson should take some minutes from him but not Parker, Jamison, or West.

You really are going to take away minutes from a PF averaging last 5 games:
    21 ppg
    9.4 rpg
    2.2 apg

    43% 3P
    52% FG

Sorry but your immense hatred for Jamison needs to stop. The only thing wrong is his FT shooting right now, the guy has been great. Put Amar'es name next to those numbers and you would be in the corner beating off to them.
  • devil1197
Don't get me wrong, I love what Gibson gives to the Cavaliers. But if Mo recovers and starts hitting at his 43% clip then its hard to justify any major minute reductions. But if he continues to slack then yes I could see some movement.

And don't get so hyped up on Gibson's 07 performance. Outside of the year he shot 45% in the playoffs, he has been 41% and 36% respectively.
  • ytownfootball
I just want Gibson to get enough minutes to stay sharp, if that means taking them away from Mo when he's been anything but on I'm fine with it. Mo is obviously not 100% yet.

Watch the games a little more carefully when Gibson is playing. Gibson's defense was very good during the 13 game winning streak.

I usually don't disagree with what you say but in Boobie's case I do. He had great court sense when he played during the 13 game win streak. He passed the ball well. Can't site assists but I am sure you could probably find that stat. We haven't played the same since boobie has been out. Granted Shaq is out now but Boobie earned playing time. I would take it from Parker and Mo.

On another note why is he still out? Most guys don't miss this much time to have a baby. Was there problems?

She had a rough pregnancy, don't know too many details but it wasn't normal.
