hoops23Footwedge, seriously.. Antawn was the BEST thing to happen to Andy.
Andy gets the perfect amount of minutes now. Every time he comes in he's full of energy and giving us the most out of his minutes because he's RESTED. Andy at 100% is 30x more valuable to us than Andy at 75% energy.. When Andy plays tired, he's actually more of a hinderance than a help. He stands around more and settles for bad shots.. He's also not as active defensively..
However, when Andy is well rested, he's one of the best post defenders, rebounders, and active guys around the basket in the league.
Again, Mike Brown said the SAME thing on the post game show following the Knicks game..
Add in the fact that Antawn is finding Andy for easy baskets, it's a match made in heaven.
You can continue to be a dumbass if you wanna.. People have killed you with stats and facts.. You have NOTHING but "Antawn is overrated" and similar lines.. *YAWN* -

Go back up to post #64. Unlike you, I listed all the players and gave the stats. In virtually every facet of the game, Jamison has the weaker numbers. If you care to dispute the facts, then state your reasons for doing so.se-alum wrote:
I figured as much. Hard to backup your argument when people start throwin' around facts, huh?!?Footwedge wrote:
No, not really. Have better things to do.se-alum wrote: Let me throw some #'s @ ya foot. These are career #'s.

Player 2 - 47.4%(fg) 33%(3p%) 74%(ft)
Player 3- 45.6%(fg) 34.6%(3p%) 73%(ft)
Player 4- 48.1%(fg) 28.6%(3p%) 77%(ft)
Care to take a guess @ who these players are? -

Noboby has "killed me" on anything PullingTrain. You act as if Jamison is the reason behindg Andy's success. First off, both of them are rarely on the court at the same time.. and secondly, Verajou's numbers have had the exact same consistancy in pre era Jamison vs. post era Jamsion.LTrain23 wrote: Footwedge, seriously.. Twisting and distorting the realities is all you do in this debate.
Well. my friend, you've lost. Time to get over it and move on. -

AFG%...Aren't you the "sportwizzard"? The AFG% is the actual weighted worth in shots from the field factoring in 2ball % and 3ball %.sportswizuhrd wrote:
What is AFG?Footwedge wrote:
Jamison has the worst AFG% on the entire Cavalier team. Knocking down free throws at a 54% clip.SQ_Crazies wrote: He took 23 shots and look at the outcome. I'll take it. They want him to shoot. They try to get him going, he's a good scorer.
His defense is mediocre as well.
Of the all the bigs, he has the fewest rebounds per minute on the team.
Other than that, he's God the second around here.
Jamison is shooting .524 from the FT line and Jackson is shooting .500.
Go to Cav stats..it will explain it all. It's pretty much the number one offensive stat used today...and as you will find, Jamison has the absolute worst AFG% on the team. Pretty sad that this guy gets 35 minutes a game. -
hoops23I haven't lost shit. In fact, you lost before you started. I completely destroyed every point you made in another thread..
And, I'll go along with the word of Coach Brown before I think about listening to you..
And you wanna say Andy is doing just as good post trade as he was pretrade?
lol
His minutes have gone DOWN, but his production has GONE UP.. How is that the same? IDIOT!
His last 3 games has saw him score 12, 14, and 11 points while grabbing 6, 10, and 8 rebounds.. His season average? 8 points and 7 boards in 28 MPG..
He's played no more than 25 minutes during that stretch of games..
If you don't think Antawn has helped Andy, then you must not be watching the games.. The NJ game was a perfect example of Antawn drawing the defenders towards him in the post and he dumped it off to Andy a few times for EASY lay ups.
My god.. This is getting dull. Same argument from you night in and night out.
And for you to love Anderson Varejao so much, you can't even spell the dudes name right. -

If his AFG% doesn't go down Z will have the lowest on the team.
Speaking of formula's....
You will use AFG (Adjusted Field Goal %) but you laugh at TS%(TRUE Shooting %)? TS factors in FT% as well.Footwedge wrote:
I have no idea where you pull these stats from. "True shooting percentage???. What the hell is that? Laughing out loud now.sportswizuhrd wrote: On the stat sheet what are we comparing?
Shooting % in the Season and Playoffs?
Jamison S-45, P-44(31)...
Powe S-52 P-48(25 games)
PPG and RPG..
Jamison S-19.8/8.1 P-19.2/7.8.
Powe S-6.6/4.2...P-5.0/2.8
Offensive/Defensive Rating(for career)
Jamison-110/109
Powe-117/102
Win Shares
Jamison-75.7(11.8 in years Powe has been in league)
Powe-10.9
Varejao(for comparison) 11.9 1st three years of career, 27.6 for entire career
True Shooting %
Jamison-.525
Powe-.594

Jamison-18.6
Powe-17.6
Varejao(for comparison) 14.4
Per 36 minutes...
Jamison-19.4/7.9 45FG%, 1ast, 1steal, 0.4 blocks
Powe-16.3/10.3 52%, .9ast, .7steal, 1.0 blocks

Are these the stats you wanted to compare that make it simple?
As I said, the easy way to compare and cotrast is ESPN.com. Try it.
Adjusted Field Goal Percentage (AFG%)=(0.5 * 3PM + FGM)/FGA ESPN uses it
True Shooting Percentage; the formula is PTS / (2 * (FGA + 0.44 * FTA)). True shooting percentage is a measure of shooting efficiency that takes into account field goals, 3-point field goals, and free throws. Basketball-reference.com
If you want to use one, why wont you use the other? -
hoops23Because it makes him look like a dumbass. He's tryin to keep this argument from being too one sided because we're destroying everything he says..
I'm just going to stop debating with him because it's pointless and I'm actually enjoying this Cavs season.. So far, I have nothing to bitch about, certainly not the way the team has played or who we've acquired since the offseason..
We're rolling again and Antawn is really coming into his own on this team. I posted a thing yesterday about how he's not seen his family, including a 6 month old who just started crawling in 2 weeks.. That's gotta be hard for any guy, especially one who seems to care about things like Antawn.
He's graced his role here in Cleveland and wants nothing more to win a championship. Nothing wrong with a guy like that.
As I've said, Andy plays better when his minutes are reduced. When he plays around 23-25 minutes a game is when he's most effective because he's able to go 100% the whole way through. When Andy plays tired he's trash, point blank.. When he's full of energy he's one of the best post defenders and energy guys in the league.
Mike Brown said the same damn thing, yet footwedge tried to dispute my claim.. -
just_a_swimmerYou guys just need to quit debating with him. It is obvious to everyone except him and no one is supporting his argument. Who cares what he thinks. It's all about W's and that my friend is what we have with him and without him, doesn't matter. What does matter is LBJ the king. I believe Antwan does make us better but I was also fine with what we had. Powe has not impressed me at all. I would cut his minutes. We need Shaq back of course and add Z in a couple of weeks and we are cruising. Need to get Lebron some rest too. We need to try and win some of these games without him playing the whole 4th qtr.
Footwedge arguing doesn't suit you. You are entitled your opinion but you are so far out in cyber space with your hatred for Jamison that it makes people wonder. Did he sleep with your momma or what? -
Footwedge
LMAO... I disputed your claim on what Brown said? I don't think so pard.LTrain23 wrote:

But I will add this.....show me a statement from Mike Brown publicly chastiizing one of his own players.
You can't because he never has.
Of course he's gonna praise Jamison in public.
Tee it back up again, Train...I'll give you a mulligan here. -

Swimmer, I don't give a fuck who agrees with me or not. I really don't. I posted the stats...it's up to the people to figure it out.just_a_swimmer wrote: It is obvious to everyone except him and no one is supporting his argument. Who cares what he thinks.
If a guy hits 270 per year and "bangs out" 4 homers a year, then the guy is a banjo hitter.
Jamison is exacvtly who we think he is...all we have to do is look at the nembers. It's that simple.
Let me try to summarize for you...in case you weren't around for the last 3 weeks. Devil and his band of koolaid drinkers were pudwhacking over the thought of the Cavs getting Jamison. I simply pointed out that the guy is over rated...which he is.Footwedge arguing doesn't suit you. You are entitled your opinion but you are so far out in cyber space with your hatred for Jamison that it makes people wonder. Did he sleep with your momma or what?
I don't hate the guy...I'm just playing Cowan Cowherd...or Doug Gotlieb...and stating that what the media perceives is many times incorrect.
So there ya go. Have a nice day. -
FootwedgeTo Sportswiz....ahem....you were the one that confirmed that Jamison is a bad shooter...and now you posted all that crap? And my statement is 100% true...that Jamison has the absolute worst FGV Average on the team. When Z comes back, well then Jamison will have the second worst on the team.
The best thing that could happen for the Cavs...Jamison tears his ACL or something similar. The best #4's have lost minutes because of him. -
hoops23
What? It's well know that if you don't perform, you DON'T play under Mike Brown.. Boobie, Devin Brown, Flip Murray, etc..Footwedge wrote:

AGAIN, for the last time, maybe you're slow ass can figure it out this time...
Mike Brown said, AFTER the NYK game, that Andy plays better with REDUCED minutes because he's able to go 100% the ENTIRE GAME. Do YOU understand that finally?
My god, it's like trying to explain something to a wall. You don't understand a damn thing anybody is trying to say. You're on your own little mission, then after every post of yours, you declare yourself the winner.. lmao..
Again, I provided STATS that proves Andy plays better with shorter minutes.. STATS don't lie remember?
Stop being an idiot, you make this too easy for the rest of us.
Add in the fact that Antawn is giving us a nightly double-double and forces the respect of the defense (as seen in him drawing defenders from Andy before hitting him for an easy lay-up) and our team is A LOT better than it was. -
hoops23

I now know to not take you serious anymore. On that note, I hope you fall down the stairs and break your neck  -
wes_mantooth^^^well that is pretty unpleasant.
-
hoops23I don't really hope for that.. Footwedge is just trying to impersonate shelbucks or "thedave" I believe..
It's a poor debate, but not much is going on in the pro sports forum, so I guess I'm subjected to partaking in it.. -
wes_mantooththere is no impersonating shelly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
FootwedgeHere's the deal Ltrain...I agree with you on virtually everything tribe related....and vice versa. But because I post that IMO Jamison is a pig in relative terms, now I'm Shellbucks or theDave?
Ummm...OK bro. Whatever gives you good wood.
Enjoy the game. -
hoops23I do have some good wood...
Err...
We'll just agree to disagree.. But imo, you are acting just like the people you complain about.
I don't have one gripe about this team.. Everybody is starting to gel nicely and the offense is really coming around to being near unstoppable.
