More trades will happen today and tmrw, as of 3pm tomorrow there will be no more trading. -
gorocks99Gonna be a pretty quiet trade deadline.
When the two biggest names being mentioned are Ray Whitney and Alexei Ponikarovsky, you know it's not a big trade year. -
End of Line^^^^^Along with Raffi Torres, sheesh.
Some of the rumours are that, Vokoun and Huet will be swapped for each other, and Anton Volchenkov may be moved (contract dispute). -
Strapping Young LadRumor is Buffalo has a big trade in the works, lol. Hope its true, but I'm not holding my breath.....
I'd take Whitney..... -
NNN
I don't know where that rumor is coming from, considering that Darcy Regier has been known to abort trades that were at the paperwork stage due to leaks either from the Buffalo end (which resulted in people being demoted or fired) or the end of the other team involved.Strapping Young Lad wrote: Rumor is Buffalo has a big trade in the works, lol. Unless you're going by Eklund, who's about as reliable as my grandfather (who died in 1987). -

It's a weird marketplace right now, but I don't think that Whitney and Ponikarovsky will be the biggest names moved.gorocks99 wrote: Gonna be a pretty quiet trade deadline.

I think there'll be a decent number of prospects who have fallen on hard times (i.e. Peter Mueller), guys who haven't really developed to any great extent (Wojtek Wolski). I keep hearing that there's a 50:50 shot that Nikita Filatov gets moved in the next 23 hours.
But this is the reality of the salary cap landscape. Teams are concerned about their current cap situation and the cap situation going forward and don't have any interest in taking on huge salaries. -
Strapping Young LadSupposedly coming from an insinuation of two drunk, former Sabres at a Sabres Casino night over the break......lol.
Hey, i hope it's for real. -
End of LineI forgot about Grebeshkov(EDM) to Nashville for a 2nd rnd pick.
-
End of Line
Eklund is so full of shit.NNN wrote:

rock_knutnePittsburgh just made another move, they acquire winger Alexei Ponikarovsky from Toronto for prospect Luca Caputi and defenseman Martin Skoula. Saw the Skoula move coming after they acquired Leopold, although, Shero says Skoula was dealt for salary cap issues.

End of LineDamn, I was not expecting the Pens to pick up Poni, thats great fucking news!!!!
-
rock_knutne^^^^^^Shows me Shero is dead serious about winning another Cup.
-
gorocks99Phoenix gets Derek Morris from the B's for a draft pick. I would think Boston is going to have to get someone now (although, with their ownership they probably just want to ship any chance of winning out the window).
-
End of LineMueller, Porter(PHX) for Woljski(COL)
-
gorocks99Ducks get Aaron Ward from Carolina
-
End of LineYan Statsny(STL) for Pierre-Cedric Labrie(VAN)
-
End of LineScott Walker(CAR) to Washington for a 7th rnd pick.
-
End of LineSeidenberg, Bartkowski(FLR) for Weller, Bitz, and TB's 2nd rnd pick.
-
End of LineSkoula(TOR) for a 5th rnd draft pick(NJ)
-
NonGood moves by the Pens.
Not sure what happened to Leopold. He was a promising player for Calgary the year they went to the Stanley Cup Finals but hasn't done much since. I like his skill set, though. Could play up given a much better situation and supporting cast.
Alexei Ponikarovsky is solid all-around player. Good size and production. I love picking up guys like this who have around 20 goals, 20 assists. When teams focus their attention on Crosby and Malkin in the playoffs, the secondary scorers can be critical. -
End of LineI can't wait to see a Poni-Malkin-Dupuis line. Poni forchecks like crazy, and that line can will be great defensively.
-
End of LineNewbury(Det) for Owens(NYR)
-
End of LineMcElhinney(CGY) for Toskala(Anh)
-
End of LineM. Schneider(VAN) for Zimmerman and Conditonal 6rnd pick (PHX)
-
End of LineTorres(CBJ) for Nathan Paetsch & a 2nd (BUF)
