Indians new batting order
-
royal_kDrennan Reporting on All Bets are Off that the top of the order will be:
Druby
Sizemore
Choo
I don't know about Grady hitting second. The plus side is more RBI opportunities, but he must cut down on his strike outs and make consistant contact. I do like Choo hitting 3rd. -
hoops23Yeah, this was released a few days ago...
I like Druby batting leadoff, but I'd rather see Grady hitting 4th. Hopefully he cuts out the k's.. He's a great player but his weakness has been his all or nothing approach. Of course, a new hitting coach can help that problem.
I'm guessing Branyan will bat 4th and Pronk 5th.. -
Laley23Im guessing Peralta is 4th, very least 5th. Otherwise we have
S - Druby
L - Grady
L - Choo
L - Branyan
L - Pronk
R - Peralta
S - Valbuena
S - Brantley
With our catcher(s) in there somewhere. -
newarkcatholicfanWhat a sad pitiful lineup.
-
royal_kI would almost bet Pronk bats clean up, Peralta 5th, and Branyon 6th. This would sperate the 2 left handed power hitters. And it would probably be against RH pitchers.

MulvaThat's a very solid 1-3 in the order. The rest is pretty below average though. I'm not sure who's going to be driving those guys in. Branyan will lead the league in solo home runs and also lead the league in Ks with men in scoring position.
And just to throw this in (because I just saw it), Bookmaker has the Indians over/under for the season set at 74 wins. -

Good point.. Totally let the lefty thing slip my mind.Laley23 wrote: Im guessing Peralta is 4th, very least 5th. Otherwise we have

Though, on some days that may be ideal.. -
YtowngirlinflaIts not a bad lineup considering we have no stars at all except for Grady. I don't consider pronk a star anymore. I just hope they can put something together, maybe surprise the MLB. Can't wait to see them in Chicago, missing baseball.

Damn you Laley. I still had my hopes up of this year until you posted the potentional line-up.Laley23 wrote: Im guessing Peralta is 4th, very least 5th. Otherwise we have

This line up will abslutely suck against lefties. Worst in the league. Lefty or righty, this team will lead the league in whiffs.Laley23 wrote: Im guessing Peralta is 4th, very least 5th. Otherwise we have

hoops23One guy I'm interested in seeing is Luis Valbuena. He showed some nice flashes not only with the glove, but with the bat last season.
He showed the potential to hit a plethora of xbh and that would be a welcome addition to a line up with Grady, Choo and Druby.. -
HitsRus^^^^Valbuena better show some stuff considering we traded Gutierrez for him. Another guy Shelton couldn't teach to hit. I think Drennan is full of shit. Grady bats # 3 or #1.....the 2 hole doesn't make any sense. If Acta truly has pencilled Grady in the 2nd spot, the eraser will come out quickly.
Grady (L)
Druby(S)
Choo(L)
Peralta (R)
Branyan(L)
Pronk(L)
Valbuena(S)
Catcher (pik 'em)
Brantley(S)
Of course it's going to vary per the pitcher they are facing. The team will score some runs. But we have ZERO starting pitching.
There is a good reason that the over/under is 74 wins.....because that is about right. -

There's a pretty good chance that won't be the line up against leftys. But they will SO a lot unless Nunally can change their approach.Footwedge wrote:

Cleveland BuckThat is what the lineup of a 100 loss team looks like. I know. I saw a lot of them here growing up.
-
From the HillsThey could have murders row as a batting lineup and it wouldn't matter with the starting pitching this team is going to have. This team does sort of remind me of the 70s and 80s teams, which included a few solid players surrounded by a bunch of nobodys and has beens. Speaking of nobodys I can't believe Peralta is still on this team.
Maybe that is the new philosophy, keep the underachievers (Peralta, Marte, Pronk, ect.) Trade away the talent (Lee, Sabathia, Martinez, ect.) -

Hitters never change their approach. They are who we thought they are. When have we ever seen Sizemore not swing for the fence with 2 strikes?royal_k wrote:

The only guy in the last few years on this team that actually changed their approach with 2 strikes was Garko. -
Laley23The Indians are projected as #30 in Sporting News. Yes, 30 out of......THIRTY!
