Lakers @ Grizz - Kobe's Return - Hits game winner, again.
-
Hb31187Lol do you have the exact same roster that we waxed this year?
-
SQ_CraziesThe Lakers are stacked and all, but no team will ever lead their conference while on cruise control. You aren't the 2nd team in the league to reach 40 wins while on cruise control.
-
SageLook, guys, I know you guys blasted us. I'm well aware.
It's just... it's not even the end of February yet. Everybody wants to take the best shot at the King. Everybody.
The fact of the matter is, the Lakers are still wearing the crown until somebody takes it from them in open battle over a 7 game series. I don't even think the Lakers will see the Nuggets (beat by OKC) or the Cavs (knocked by Charlotte). -
Hb31187Lol The bobcats and the thunder...LOL. You're too much
-
Sage
We had the same roster that the Orlando Magic waxed last year too. Look how that turned out for them.Hb31187 wrote: Lol do you have the exact same roster that we waxed this year?
You guys have no true big man. You don't really play defense, and you don't have a champion's mentality.
And your Coach... is well... George Karl.
You should know this by now. Weren't you talking shit to me like this last year after the Rockets took the Lakers to 7 games? How did that turn out for you?
Last year, the Lakers won as many championships as the Cavs and the Nuggets combined.
I really fail to see why their fans insist on talking shit. -
SQ_CraziesYeah, I only have question Sage, do you REALLY believe that will happen to either team? I'll take your answer assuming you're being completely honest.
-
SageI'm only half kidding about the Bobcats. But, they will give the Cavs all the want. Said the same thing about the Magic last year and everybody here laughed at me. It wouldn't shock me in the least if the Bobcats knocked em. Nobody wants 'em come Round 1.
And if you don't think the Zombies could give the Nuggets all the want... and that it's the exact situation that they (and before them, George Karl coached teams) have combusted in.... then... you're in for a shock come May. -

Why not bring up this years games Sage?
Probably because regular season games don't mean jack shit. The Magic swept the Lakers in the regular season last year. The Spurs were swept by the Cavs in the regular season in 2007. Both the Lakers and Spurs turned around and beat the shit out of both of those teams come June.
Despite the Bobcats owning the Cavs thus far this year, I'd still take Cleveland in a sweep in a playoff series. As would anyone with an ounce of sense. Maybe not necessarily in a sweep, but in the series. -
Hb31187You mean that Big man thats an inch shorter and puts up the exact same numbers are your "true big man"?
Coaching in the NBA is vastly overrated, Half of phils teams could of coached themselves for christ sake. -

Get to the Finals 1 time (and it will be the Nuggets first time) and then you talk smack about regular season waxings. -
Hb31187
And anyone with an ounce of sense would also realize that Nuggets to the Lakers are a bigger threat then Bobcats to the Cavs. Thankscview wrote:SQ_Crazies wrote:

SageNot saying the Nuggets couldn't knock the Lakers.
Nuggets-Lakers mean more to the Nuggs than it does to the Lakers. I haven't been surprised by any of the results.
It's just.... the playoffs are a different monster. The Lakers have proven they can handle it. The Nuggets? Not so much.
I just fail to see why you're talking shit. -
Hb31187Because lakers fans act like their team is untouchable? And when anything else is brought up they refer to last season as proof of why theyre untouchable
-
SQ_CraziesThunder have a much shot against the Nuggets than the Bobcats against the Cavs--but I still don't think that'd be a good matchup for the Thunder. I think their best chance to get out of the first round is to match up with the Spurs. The Nuggets can handle the Thunder in more than likely 5 games, maybe 4, MAYBE 6. The Bobcats will get swept by the Cavs--although I don't think they'll ever meet in the playoffs. Playoff experience is a big deal.

No shit. But they're still the Nuggs. I like them as the 3rd best team in the league. Melo can score as easily as anyone, Chauncey Billups is a flat out winner and it's no coincidence everywhere he leaves takes a dip and everyhwere he goes skyrockets up the standings. But outside of those two it's Birdman, a dude with just one name, a really fast backup PG, a dude with more tat's than basketball accomplishments, and George Karl on the bench. They'll make it an interesting series but LA's size will wear them out eventually.Hb31187 wrote:

SageNot bringing up last year to prove they're untouchable, I'm bringing up last year to show that you have the same core of guys that self destructed in the 08 and 09 playoffs.
Look up George Karl and some of the epic playoff collapses he has presided over. -
Trueblue23What kind of playoff experience to the Cavs have? Outside of LeBron and Shaq there aren't many deep playoff runs in that team
-
SQ_CraziesMo was around for a nice run last year--he at least knows what it's like now.
Delonte played great last year.
Z, Andy, Boobie--pletny of playoff experience there.
Hickson was around last year
Parker is a vet and I'm pretty sure he's been to the playoffs, Jamison too and I know he's been in the playoffs--played well too.
Powe has a good amount of playoff experience--he's got a ring.
I don't think anyone questions LeBron's.
And there better not be anyone who questions Shaq's.
Not sure how you can overlook all that... -
SageBetter question: Who has performed well in the playoffs for the Cavs, outside of LBJ and the Ghost of Christmas Past (Shaq)
-
SQ_CraziesDelonte, AV, Boobie.
And it is a new year after all, right Sage? I think that you would agree that experience definitely goes a long way. Which is why I wasn't incredibly surprised to see Mo go cold last year. -

Trueblue23I expect the Lakers to step it up a little bit soon, gotta get ole mo in your corner heading into the playoffs
-
wes_mantoothThanks everyone for a great read...lol

hoops23Antawn Jamison is a beast in the playoffs.
