The most amazing Jordan stat

The Spurs have had some good teams, but they didn't dominate a shorter time period like some other teams have done. They never even won the conference in consectutive years. I don't mean to diminished what they accomplished, and they have been very consistent over the last 12 years or so. If you are looking at the the all time best teams over a 10 year period, the Spurs of the Duncan era would be in the top 5 or 6 of all time. I just don't see any stretch of 3 years they put together that is equal to what Lakers did in 2000-2002.SportsAndLady wrote:

Strapping Young LadI love it when these youong bucks claim that the competition was weak (comparatively) in the 80's!!!!! Haha, yeah they sure know their basketball!!!!!!
No, Jordan never had to go against anyone like a Dwight Howard.....Patrick Ewing, The Dream, Mutumbo. those guys were nothing. Dwight Howard is way better......
You guys are a joke. But, yeah you know so much about basketball. -
HeelzYou can tell who the younger posters on here are, just by the way they say oh the NBA now is so much better. Back in the "good ol' days" we had something called fundementals, something no one plays with today. If you dont believe then watch ESPN classic when they show those older games jumpshots were made and defense was actually played.

If you play with good fundamentals today (Tim Duncan), you are too boring. :rolleyes:Heelz wrote: You can tell who the younger posters on here are, just by the way they say oh the NBA now is so much better. SageThe 00-02 Lakers would have absolutely steamrolled any of Jordan's teams.
Who the hell is guarding Shaq during the height of his powers? Bill Cartwright? Lmao. -
SageAnd to the guy who claimed the Lakers never beat anybody in the Finals, that's because the East has been (and still is) an absolute joke. The Finals happened every year between the Kings and the Blazers and the Lakers.

And you can tell the old posters on here who still think fundamentals is relevant and better than the pure athletes that would run those 80's guys right off the court.Heelz wrote: You can tell who the younger posters on here are, just by the way they say oh the NBA now is so much better. And thats why Jordan will always be the best, bc he had fundamentals and was an athlete, Fundamentals aren't relevant anyomore? wow, yea it's only the basis of any sport ever played.sleeper wrote:

P.S. I'm not "old" I just like to look at the NBA world without my everyone suck off Lebron shades on -
jpake1So... you're implying that those who wish they could suck off LBJ would wear shades? Ahh, I get it-- they don't want red eye from the money shot.

Actually Shaq was being schooled by Olejewon, Rik Smits and Patrick Ewing.Sage wrote: The 00-02 Lakers would have absolutely steamrolled any of Jordan's teams.

If pure athletes win over fundamentals, the Nuggets should be collecting their second title in a row this season.sleeper wrote:

Strapping Young LadWow. One person (Shaq in his prime) who will never be topped, and that proves that the 21st century NBA is better than the 80's. Yes!!!! You're definately an idiot.
And fundamentals don't matter. Look up the word fundamentals in the dictionary and realize that you're a moron. That sentence makes no sense.
Anty team with Shaq is his prime and a shooter would've won a championship in any era. Big deal. Lebron/ Dwight Howard are supposedly the dawn of this new NBA of superhuman basketball players, genetically alter to make them superior to the players of past.
And just how many championships have they won???? ZERO combined, while today's fundamental, cerebral players, Kobe, D. Wade, Ray Allen, KG, Chauncey Billups have all got their rings...... -
77LegendThose Utah Jazz teams of 97 and 98 were damn good. Malone, Stockton, Hornacek, etc....Hall of Famers, and the role players too add. And that 96 Seattle Supersonics team lead by Gary "The Glove" Payton and Shawn Kemp was nice too! Don't hate on the past.......
-
Strapping Young LadNo those teams couldn't have been good, because they didn't have LeBrick and the fake Superman on it...

NateCrazy that Kobe has now lost 3 games in a row.

How are any of those players listed more fundamentally sound than Lebron? Lebron is a better passer than Kobe, D Wade, Ray Allen and KG, Better rebounder than all excep KG, Better Scorer than all (Kobe up for debate.) Very good defender. Lebron can finish going to either side and with either hand.Strapping Young Lad wrote: Wow. I grew up watching Bird, Jordan,BarkelyMagic, Malone,Stockton, Olajuwon..etc.. that whole generation of players and guys like Shaq, Kobe, Lebron..etc.. are just as good and may end up better than those guys. -

Indeed, I wonder if that Jordan stat is still as amazing.Keebler wrote: Crazy that Kobe has now lost 3 games in a row. -

Probably not. I'm sure he's trying to think of a witty response now.karen lotz wrote:

And as usual...you are dead wrong. LOL at all the college kids that think the NBA was born 8 years ago.SportsAndLady wrote:
I don't think that's in question here..rather, they (well, Jordan) wouldn't have won 7 titles if the talent level in the 90's was of equivalence to the talent level of today.KnightXC1 wrote: To think those Bulls teams of the 90's could not compete now is plain ignorance. -

The talent level in the NBA would STOMP anything in the past, and you can take that to the bank. -
NateAmazing how 2quik4u has ignored this stat now.
-
Eric TaylorThe '98 Bulls team would beat any team playing right now.
They would go through the East with no problem.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Jordan era was superior and alot of today's top scoring guys would be shut down on a nightly basis.
