Supercross motorcycle races

SpeedofsandAny fans here ? I'm watching on Speed tv now, live from Indy. They are on tv live the next 4 weeks. I'll be at Daytona on March 6th, and Jacksonville March 27th. James Stewart and Chad Reed are both injured and there is a 3 way tie for the season points, so its good and competitive.

slide22I like it, just the races are often incredibly boring. Whoever gets the hole-shot wins almost all the time.
-
SpeedofsandNot lately. Stewart and Reed had a hell of a race last year in Jax. Reed wrecked into Stewart this year and they both got hurt (broken hand and wrist, both had surgery to fix). When McGrath or Carmichael were dominating it was boring, but this year its between Villopoto and Dungey, and maybe Josh Grant. Reed and Stewart will be back before Vegas, but not in the points.
2 years ago Daytona was flooded from heavy rains. It was crazy.
Reed got flooded on the last lap 2 turns from winning, bike died and he lost with a 20 second lead.

tigerfan82I am a huge fan, have been since the early 90's when my son's got into them. Have been going to races ever since...........almost 20 years and have never ever left one, indoors or out, and felt it was a boring race.
-
SpeedofsandYeah its not boring to me, but I can see why some say that. The replay is on speed tv now, Villopoto had a radiator get punched out in the first lap, first turn of his heat. Had to win the LCQ, then got a great start (3rd) from the worst gate in the main.
-
tigerfan82great year so far of racing...........if you ever get a chance to go to an arenacross race speed, get there.....I thought it was the Bristol (of old!) of motocross......short track and alot of bumping!
-
EnforcerMy Brother has raced a few of the guys on the MX Lites(125 series) before Michael Willard and Levi Kilbarger just to name a few, He took a few years off after our Dad passed away ,Butis starting to get back into it this year , I just bought hin a 2009 Suzuki 450
-
SpeedofsandGlouster, Ohio has internet access
It is a small world. My POS brother in law is from Glouster.
I saw Levi Kilbarger race Daytona last year, he was very good and made the main, which is not easy with so many riders at the Daytona event. They have qualifying heats all day.
-
EnforcerWhos your Brother Inlaw?
-
SpeedofsandEnforcer, I sent you a pm.
tigerfan82, I recognize alot of names on the arenacross, just happened to find one on tv now, from Hampton, Va. just a couple miles from my brother in Norfolk.
Jeff Gibson is a cousin of the track president at Daytona. -
tigerfan82after seeing the youngstown event live........tv doesn't do it to much justice, speed.......there was bumping and block passing on every lap......alot of fun to watch in person. Gibby is the teammate of Brock this year......a local rider we have followed for many years.
-
EnforcerYeah Gibson raced at Fast Traxx in Nelsonville all the time, Anyone ever go down to Fast Traxx? And yes Racing is a Hell of a lot better Live
-
tigerfan82Great lites race this past Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And did Dungy wrap up the title with Villapolto's crash????
-
SpeedofsandFrenchy Pourcel is world class on the lites tour. Kilbarger is 11th after 2 Lites East events.
Dungey and Villopoto were tied before, and the season is only halfway now.

Heard that Reed might be back this week, anyone else hear anything? -
SpeedofsandI just now heard that Reed was on his bike a couple days ago for the first time in 6 weeks. He says Daytona is a long shot. I don't think he will return until he is 100 %.

Speedofsandhere is a look at the Daytona supercross RC design this week. Dungey will like it.
I'm hoping to meet Ashley Fiolek this weekend. I'm a big fan of her. She is from St. Augustine, Fl. and won the X games women's motocross and is the #1 female rider. She is the first female to get factory sponsorship. She won't be racing here, but I'm sure she'll be in attendance. The Touchdown Club of Columbus, Ohio presented her with an Award last month.
Ashley has been ' profoundly deaf ' since birth. Everyone has been impressed how good she rides with the disadvantage of not hearing the engine to know when its time to shift.
This is her on Carson Daly a few months ago. there are lots of other youtubes of her, all great to watch.
-
SpeedofsandToronto was last nite. Kilbarger made the main again, finished 14th where he also stands in the east points. Great job.
On the big bikes, Villopoto won, then Dungey and Canard.
Jerry World in Dallas is next week, then I can't wait until Jacksonville. -
EnforcerYeah I watched some of the Lites on TV today. I cant wait till the Races start up here, Nothing like the great smell of Two Cycle Motorcycles Exhausts!
-
tigerfan82they still make those 2 cycles?????? haha You won't see them at any supercross anymore....Villy is riding like he is on a mission and Dungy is riding like he already has it locked up, IMO. It's going to get very interesting when Reed comes back and starts running with them.
-
Speedofsandfound a site that has a really good James Stewart interview. Lots of comments saying they never heard him open up like this before. Its been 6 weeks and he may not make it back until outdoors season.
