Does LBJ whine to much?

  • SQ_Crazies
Not only players in every sport, but players at EVERY LEVEL of basketball.

You see guys bitching in high school games. Have you ever seen or played in a park/rec league? Never heard so much whining in my life. It's part of the game really. From your point of view, you never mess up and you're always fouled.

You always gotta work the refs. They do it for a reason, the benefit from it in the end. I do have to admit though, if I were a pro, one wouldn't hear me bitch once about a call in my career. So that just pretty much adds to my ego and makes me a boss.

This is true. I've played A LOT of basketball with jpake and fouls don't have any effect on him.

This is not something limited to basketball either. Watch most QB's in the NFL. They run to the official after almost ever single play that there was holding or pass interference or he didn't throw intentional grounding. It really has a lot to do with just being so competitive. Probably my two favorite players ever not to play for my favorite team were the worst at it. Payton Manning and John Elway. Also, Marino was really bad. I know this thread is about basketball but many of your big stars do this all across sports.

I'm with you September. I guess the "everyone does it thing" is ok when it is the other guy and not our guy but in my case I hold LBJ to a higher standard and wish he wouldn't do it. He gets his calls 90% of the time so I don't see why he has to waste time and energy crying to the officials, however I feel this is my problem not his.:D

It was obvious the Cavs were out of sink last night. I know LBJ played great but there sure wasn't many smiles on the bench.

I don't think he gets his calls 90% of the time, if anything he is screwed over for being so big and so fast. If the refs called a foul everytime he was fouled he would shoot 50 free throws a game. When Reggie Miller says its a foul on LeBron its a foul, Reggie is the most selfish commentator in the business so its hard for him to give guys credit and he said foul.

As far as working the refs, not just the superstars but everyone does it, hell I was doing it in a rec league game earlier in the night and always have whether it be baseball, basketball, hockey, or mens softball.

The correct answer to the question is yes.

Whether "everyone does it" has no impact at all on whether LeBron does it too much. He's not as bad as Tim Duncan, but he does whine way more than he should.

    DeyDurkie5 calls September63 a....Goon.

    Trueblue23 calls him Lame.

Fly4Fun says, "What a terrible topic."

And Rolling Stone says, "September63 is the biggest dumbass in the world."

And I agree with all of them.

The NBA tried to clean this all up, but after the whole Joey Crawford situation, it has reverted back to its old form. So much for that...

Yeah he does, but all most every star thinks they get fouled on every play. And I am sure that most of them think they have never committed a foul in their life. I would rate Tim Duncan and Rip Hamilton as worse whiners than Lebron(I am sure there are others).

Wes, where is Kobe on your list?
  • wes_mantooth
I would put him even with Lebron and Melo. These guys are coddled and expect every call. I actually don't blame the players as much as I do the NBA officiating in general. It has always been geared towards protecting their stars.

Last night Melo threw his headband into the crowd after not getting a call. Havent seen LeBron do that(and I hope I never do).

Lebron just kicks water bottles into the stands. Thats much better.

It's only because this is the way these officials have been programmed though. That is what the league and what David Stern want.

^^^Very true. Stern is getting exactly what he wants.

Do you need to be reminded about the players in the top 5 for technicals in the past 5 years?

I'll take kicking bottles over raping Colorado women any day of the week.
